Karen D. Robinson. Yarn Dyer and Knitwear Designer. Thursday, April 24, 2014. Prices Changing While on a Waiting List. Something happened this week that has been bothering me and I talked about it with someone in my knitting group this morning. Her reaction seemed even stronger than mine, so I feel that I have a right to be a little upset, but then I thought I would also blog about it to see if anyone else had any reactions/suggestions. A few more details and my thoughts:. So I guess I'll go ahead with m...

Karen D. Robinson. Yarn Dyer and Knitwear Designer. Monday, April 27, 2015. Fiber Week in Review: April 20-26. I've been working on an upcoming shawl collection that I don't want to reveal too much about, so there's not a whole lot to report this week. Of course, that means very little time to work on anything else (like the baby blanket). I do have a pair of socks on the needles and have picked those up a little this week. To get the collection ready in time to debut at STITCHES Texas. In September....

Karen D. Robinson. Yarn Dyer and Knitwear Designer. Monday, April 20, 2015. Fiber Week in Review: April 13-19. Technically two of the days in this week in review (Monday and Tuesday) were covered in my previous post about the Strung Along Retreat. But I didn't talk about the projects I was knitting during the retreat, so there are still some updates from that time to discuss in this post. I did finish the Puplicious Socks. That I picked up during DFW Fiber Fest. I haven't gotten very far on these yet.

Karen D. Robinson. Yarn Dyer and Knitwear Designer. Monday, June 1, 2015. Fiber Weeks in Review: May 18-June 1. Last Monday was a holiday, and my husband was off work. I spent the whole day thinking it was Sunday, so I was a bit surprised on Tuesday to have "skipped" Monday. I thought about doing a post on Tuesday but decided to wait until today to post about the two weeks. And it's been a pretty busy two weeks! I did indeed finish the fifth shawl. Now all five are complete! In the Hello Sweetie colorway...

Karen D. Robinson. Yarn Dyer and Knitwear Designer. Saturday, October 25, 2014. Taking Pictures of Illusion Knitting Is Hard! Just as the title of the post says, boy, taking pictures of illusion/shadow knitting is hard. By its nature, you have to look at a piece of illusion knitting at an angle in order to see the pattern come out; otherwise, all you see are stripes. And I'm still not 100% happy with it. Hence the reason I'm so glad I was able to get the "atmospheric" shot to use as the cover photo:.

Karen D. Robinson. Yarn Dyer and Knitwear Designer. Monday, May 18, 2015. Fiber Week in Review: May 11-17. The work on the knitting for the shawl collection is almost done, so I hope next week to be able to have more to talk about than just that- definitely the week after for sure. Finished the fourth shawl, blocked it, and wove in ends. Lancelot base in Lady of the Lake and Knight colorways. I did a little spinning this week! I got through more of the alpaca/bamboo blend that I've been working on. P...
