Life was gorgeous and fun and good! It was a beautiful month. One weekend we drove up into the mountains to enjoy the lovely fall colors and sunshine. Tyler, Taylor and darling Oaklee met us there and we enjoyed a picnic lunch, talking and playing. I am so grateful I live in a world where there are Octobers.".

Thursday, February 26. Jack Frost has been hanging around the Center of the Universe. Hyrum is up to 5 snow days out of the last 8 and I've had a couple myself. This time it was Tara's turn to play in the snow and my turn to cuddle with a cute girl on the couch. Tara helped the boys build a snow fort (Translation: The boys watched Tara make a snow fort). Hyrum cleaned off the car. Adorable. Warm. Relaxed. Hyrum died on what's left of our last snowman. Why are you looking at me, Dad? Hyrum got a bad idea.

Sunday, November 23. It was a fun visit, though a little frigid early on. The demonstration of the revolution-era rifle at Yorktown is still one of my favorite things. Monday, June 30. A Spontaneous Intro to Night Hiking. Our latest outdoor adventure, already three weeks behind us, was a camping trip to Sky Meadows in Northern Virginia. Sunday, May 17. When we moved to Virginia last year, one of the things we were excited about was Planet Snoopy. Camden was a huge Peanuts fan and it was awesome that the park was only 15 minutes away and Camden got in free. Our whole family got passes to the larger park and waterpark, Kings Dominion, and we had an awesome summer. It took a few minutes to get him to stop jumping up and down when we got there. The sheep is Scottish. The boys actually are too. Camden flew DaVinci's kite like it was old news.
