A Painting Today: 'Gauguin' and My New Book 'A to Z'
http://karinjurick.blogspot.com/2015/08/my-new-book-to-z-available-now.html
The results of the life of a paintaholic. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Gauguin' and My New Book 'A to Z'. A new addition to my series ArtistZ. I grappled with my three choices - Giacomett. Who my mom also loved and emulated in painting and sculpture, Jean-Leon Gerome. Who painted the most exquisite, realism I've ever laid eyes on and Paul Gauguin, who had no rules about color other than creating harmony. There is something that sends me when I look at a Gauguin in person and that's why I chose him. My Pain...
A Painting Today: "Albright"
http://karinjurick.blogspot.com/2015/07/albright.html
The results of the life of a paintaholic. Saturday, July 4, 2015. For me, working on a theme gives me direction and motivation, both of which are sometimes hard to come by if you're a painter. So I've come up with a new series I'm psyched about titled ' A. Inspired by the artists I greatly admire, from A. It took about five minutes to list 23, with U, X and Y still to be determined. Those 23 were easy, artists I've loved for years - through artbooks and visits to museums. I hope you enjoy this new series.

A Painting Today: Annual Small Works Auction in Charleston
http://karinjurick.blogspot.com/2015/07/annual-small-works-auction-in-charleston.html
The results of the life of a paintaholic. Sunday, July 12, 2015. Annual Small Works Auction in Charleston. I'm slowly climbing out from under a rock. Really from under the covers. Stricken with a stomach or intestinal virus that wiped out almost an entire week. I know it could always be worse, but I'm sure it could be better. Little by little, jello by jello. I'd really like to get back to normalcy again and start painting. In Charleston, SC. I've got three, framed paintings. And here are the three.

Cassidy and Zak downtown enjoying a beautiful sunset. Cassidy and Justin at their Junior Prom. A Different Kind of Friday Afternoon. I had a lot of fun playing with this image. It's a picture of my daughter Cassidy and the group that she went to prom with. I took the girls head and put it on their dates. I posted on facebook as a joke, some got it, some where confused. I've been making some new actions (recipes) for editing pictures. This one has a toned down look of yesteryear. Still Sweet at Seventeen.
