Wednesday, July 25, 2012. 2012 Big Island Trip Details. Most of the non-food, non-clothing items for the trip. On Saturday, August 4th, Frits Kwant, Gary DeKock, Doug VanDoren and myself will set off on a 110-125 mile paddle trip that will take us to 6-8 of the largest islands in Lake Michigan. Please follow our progress on this. This link will become active once we start on Saturday). On Saturday, 8/4/2012, around noon we will launch from Glen Haven Beach at Sleeping Bear Dunes. Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Setting my course for 2012. Planning for my 2012 paddling year is well underway. If all goes well, this year will be one of my most prolific paddling year's in over 10 years. In April, Jacquelyn and I are hoping to participate in the Hugh Heward Challenge. In July, our whole family is paddling out to Lime Island State Park with the West Michigan Coastal Kayaker's Association. And will continue to post updates here on this blog as time goes by.
