Queer Boy Blogging: 03-Feb-2011
http://queerboyeric.blogspot.com/2011_02_03_archive.html
The writings and musings of Eric Satchwill. Thursday, 3 February 2011. I'll admit that I'm not a fan of pimping myself, but to make it in this industry it's something I have to get used to doing. And right now, pimping myself is exactly what I need to do. I'm not looking to get something for nothing. Life doesn't work that way and I don't expect it to. Now in my former life I wasn't a writer, but an artist! Of course it is! And we're talking full colour illustrations here, HD even. Please, check it out&#...

The writings and musings of Eric Satchwill. Saturday, 12 March 2011. Queer Boy is Moving House. Well, moving to a new site, at any rate. I'll still leave this blog up, letting it float in cyberspace for those curious few who will stumble upon it. But I'll also start reposting my old posts from the archives here to my new blog. The plan is to shift one over every Monday, and to include some follow-up commentary where my opinions have changed over time. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Queer Boy Blogging: Outside Looking In
http://queerboyeric.blogspot.com/2011/02/outside-looking-in.html
The writings and musings of Eric Satchwill. Wednesday, 9 February 2011. This is where I am most of the time, on the outside of life, watching it go past and wondering what it's all about. I have always been an observer, and a recorder of observations. It's not really something I chose; it's a part of my nature. Have you ever had the most intense realization about the most mundane things? Thinks like: I'm eating pizza that I made myself. I write because no matter how much I find myself on the outside of l...

Queer Boy Blogging: 30-Jan-2011
http://queerboyeric.blogspot.com/2011_01_30_archive.html
The writings and musings of Eric Satchwill. Sunday, 30 January 2011. What's In A Name? Guess what arrived in the mail the other day? A shiny new name change certificate! Or, Certificate of Change of Name, because of course we can't do it the easy way, can we? This happened both faster and slightly cheaper than I expected. Remember that $200 fee I was quoted at the beginning? The registry agent told me it would be all pink and purple, and "pretty enough to frame." And you know what? Links to this post.

The writings and musings of Eric Satchwill. Saturday, 8 January 2011. What's In A Name? This part, for some reason, seemed to me like it was going to be something strange and frightening. Getting fingerprinted. I'm not sure why I thought this, but I kept picturing Big Intimidating Cops that would glare suspiciously at me, trying to determine what heinous crime I must have committed. What can I say? I'm a writer. I have an over-active imagination. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Queer Boy Blogging: 18-Jan-2011
http://queerboyeric.blogspot.com/2011_01_18_archive.html
The writings and musings of Eric Satchwill. Tuesday, 18 January 2011. I've Agreed to Disagree With Ray Bradbury. I love Ray Bradbury. There are many reasons for this, possibly as numerous as the stories he's written, but there is one reason above all others: he's the first of my idols that I've ever disagreed with. In school, and made it my gospel. I cherished the copy of Something Wicked This Way Comes. Then about four, five years ago, I reread Something Wicked. Well, a few days ago TheEchoInside. To my...

The writings and musings of Eric Satchwill. Friday, 14 January 2011. What's In A Name? Our Hero's Epic Quest to Win His Name. The only thing that can explain my day today is the fact that not only am I a masochist, but I'm a stubborn one at that. And before you accuse me of hyperbole or of misrepresenting masochism, let me assure you that I do. Know what it is to be a masochist. Intimately. Instead, I thought it would be a good idea to take the bus into the suburbs. This. Sounds like a good idea, right?

After working as a Developer through the Y2K crisis and beyond in Chicago and Tulsa for SPR Companies, I tried my hand at the piano. As a Dueling Piano player, I performed at nightclubs across the USA, including Pat O'Brien's in San Antonio and Howl At The Moon in Kansas City. I love performing music, but it's hard to have a family life when you are on the road, so I am retooling to work as a Developer again. I enjoy working with data and have set my sights on becoming a DataBase Administrator.
