Ellen Hopkins | Kidlit and Such
https://kidlitandsuch.wordpress.com/2015/02/25/ellen-hopkins
A blog about writing. February 25, 2015. Finally, I learned that lyric and poetry can be used outside of their typical forms. The way that Ellen writes her books is beautiful and fairly unique in that the story is composed of poems and interesting forms of writing. This helps to make the story feel crazed and sporadic which is often exactly how her characters are feeling, too. Happy writing and see you next week! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. The whole time I was reading The Redheaded Princess, I kept thinking I had read it before. But no, that didn't seem quite right. Why was it so familiar? I do not read a lot of historical fiction so what had I read that dealt with this time period? What are the responsibilities that come with this power? How do the various characters handle the power they are given? View all my reviews. This is th...
