Peace | A Year Of Fruit
https://ayearoffruit.wordpress.com/2010/01/18/peace
A Year Of Fruit. January 18, 2010. We are focusing on “peace” this week. When I asked my kids, “What is ‘peace’? 8221; They responded with, “A peach! 8221; Clearly, I needed to be more specific with my question. They did finally come up with an answer that was about being calm and content. I hope this week goes “peachy” for us, and we learn to be more calm and content even when our circumstances are not. Knowing my family, this should be interesting. Laquo; Joy During Devastation. While The Storm Rages.

Goodness | A Year Of Fruit
https://ayearoffruit.wordpress.com/2010/02/07/goodness
A Year Of Fruit. February 7, 2010. I love seeing the Spirit working in them as they grow. This week we are moving forward to “goodness”. The fruit that we decided to correlate the idea with is a banana. So, I guess we are going “bananas” this week. I do hope God’s sense of humor doesn’t make that literal! Laquo; While The Storm Rages. Opportunity Lost | A Year Of Fruit
https://ayearoffruit.wordpress.com/2010/01/06/opportunity-lost
A Year Of Fruit. January 6, 2010. 8221; If eyes could kill, mine would have struck her down on the spot. I gave her a glare that I’m not even sure I could recreate if I wanted to. It was sheer anger. Then I bulled my way out the door. I don’t know if I’ll have the courage. I will, however, take a lesson from this, repent, and ask the Spirit to help me be slow to anger. Hopefully my next opportunity will fair much better. Laquo; Our Experiment Begins. On January 7, 2010. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Failure? | A Year Of Fruit
https://ayearoffruit.wordpress.com/2010/01/11/failure
A Year Of Fruit. January 11, 2010. I have to admit, last week did not go at all like I had planned. Originally, I thought I would blog everyday, or at minimum three days a week (I do actually hope to keep up to my three day minimum). I also thought that we as a family would do some really cool activities centered around our weekly theme. None of that happened. Sometimes you just have one of those weeks. Laquo; Opportunity Lost. About | A Year Of Fruit
https://ayearoffruit.wordpress.com/about
A Year Of Fruit. 8220;One year. How can our lives change as a family in one year? 8221; That was the question I was asking myself as I sat in my bedroom listening to my children bicker at each other while my husband became more and more aggravated by their arguing. While this is probably a very typical situation for many households, the only thing that came to my mind was that our family was definitely not showing the Fruit of the Spirit at that moment. Joy During Devastation | A Year Of Fruit
https://ayearoffruit.wordpress.com/2010/01/18/joy-during-devastation
A Year Of Fruit. January 18, 2010. Alright, I am still here, and we are still working on our virtues, but last week was odd. I don’t even have a good way of saying what I want to say. I had hoped that our “joy” week would go much smoother than our “love” week, but as you are probably already guessing, it didn’t. I have one word, “Haiti.”. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. While The Storm Rages | A Year Of Fruit
https://ayearoffruit.wordpress.com/2010/01/22/while-the-storm-rages
A Year Of Fruit. January 22, 2010. While The Storm Rages. Earlier this week I was searching for just the right Bible verse to help teach my children about God’s peace. Almost immediately Matthew chapter eight came to mind, Jesus calms the storm. So, while we were eating around the table, I ran, got my Bible, and read out loud for everyone. Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Joy | A Year Of Fruit
https://ayearoffruit.wordpress.com/2010/01/12/joy
A Year Of Fruit. January 12, 2010. 8220;Joy.” We are “lemons” this week. This reminded my husband of a Sponge Bob episode where Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy fight EVIL, which stands for Every Villian Is Lemons. It makes no sense of course, and that is what makes it so darn funny to say. Which then makes the fact that we assigned lemons as the visual reference for “joy” perfectly ironic for our family. So now my prayer for the week is that we might all become more like our little 5-year-old. Joyful in...
