Give me disco lights. Photos from a beginning photographer. Daily life kind of things. Hopefully at least marginally amusing. Bound for olympic dreams. Apologies for the lag in updates to this blog! I've been busy moving (twice) this summer, as well as doing quite a bit of traveling. This weekend, I'm moving to downtown Chicago, and I'm starting grad school at Roosevelt University next week. So while I have a bit of time tonight, here's the last entry on my East Coast trip from June. Photographing gymnas...

Give me disco lights. Photos from a beginning photographer. Daily life kind of things. Hopefully at least marginally amusing. On my last trip to Toronto, which was about a month ago, I discovered that the sensor on my 20D was in desperate need of a cleaning. Well, I kind of knew this, but it was even worse than I remembered, so instead of using it to take photos, I used my old backup, which is a Kodak DX6490. Yeah.not exactly the quality that I'm used to! I don't have any great. Here are some of my favou...

Give me disco lights. Photos from a beginning photographer. Daily life kind of things. Hopefully at least marginally amusing. In the meantime, I'm without a computer that has Photoshop. I'm borrowing a computer from my mom's work, but since I'm not an administrator, I can't install anything, including the free trial of Photoshop. I've already tried, just to be sure. If all goes well, I'll be back with new blogs after my trip to Vancouver for the 2009 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships. Okay Not...

Give me disco lights. Photos from a beginning photographer. Daily life kind of things. Hopefully at least marginally amusing. Things that i did not do this weekend. Here's an account of last Sunday night's inventory:. I did not go through my mail. I did not move my shoes from the floor by my front door to the floor of my closet. I didn't even straighten them. My little cousins would be so disappointed in me. Their shoes are always tidy. An exercise in studying. And sometimes, I just can't take it anymore.

Well, here I am with photos from the last day of my New York trip - only five weeks late, or something like that. Ah well - it's been a busy month! Here's Judson Memorial Church from a slightly different angle and with slightly different settings. I can't decide which one I like better. 1/50, f/13, ISO 100. One problem: I am terrified.

Give me disco lights. Photos from a beginning photographer. Daily life kind of things. Hopefully at least marginally amusing. Juniors take the ice. These updates from Vancouver are taking a few days each to put together, since I'm literally wading through over 1,000 images from each day. These are from Wednesday, the first day of competition at the Canadian Championships, and on this day in particular, I took over 2500 photos! Who has taught me everything I know about skating photography, and most of the...

Give me disco lights. Photos from a beginning photographer. Daily life kind of things. Hopefully at least marginally amusing. Michigan of the lake variety. Big lake with little waves, taken while crouching down so waves look bigger. A little bigger. Maybe. This probably breaks some rule of basic photography, but I love taking pictures of water into the sun. I love the glare. Best friends for life. How do I get upset with someone for wanting to make the world a better place? How do I get upset over a tele...
