Monday, August 8, 2011. Las Hogueras de San Juan (Saint John's Bonfires). At the beginning, the bonfires of Saint John was a pagan party in which the summer solstice was celebrated. Later, the Catholic Church gave to this party a religious sense and it was named Saint John's Eve. It entails making bonfires on the beach and eating and drinking around them. This party has a very ancient origin and it is related to the cycle of the nature and influenced by ancient pre-christian traditions.

Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Níjar is the oldest village in the area. It is famous for its pottery, rag rugs and esparto grass. In Níjar you can find a typical Andalusian village with white houses and narrow streets.There is no better place to enjoy nature than the excursion to Huebro from Níjar. El Hoyazo de Níjar. I would recommend going out with your friends in the different pubs, for having something to drink and dancing.You can find a lot of shop on the main street called Federico García Lorca.
