Korea, Kevin and Kimchee. How a different perspective can change your perspective. Perspective! Saturday, March 31, 2007. Less updates from now on. I'm deciding on whether or not to continue this blog in a regular fashion. Will probably just update with any major events a few times a month. theres various reasons and you can email me if you want to hear them. But basically I just have other things I need to do. Sunday, March 25, 2007. Me talk pretty one day. A) Get everyone to speak your language. Now I ...

Korea, Kevin and Kimchee. How a different perspective can change your perspective. Perspective! Sunday, December 31, 2006. We were both pretty tired from the trek so decided that finding the huge local spa would be a good thing. We searched around for a bit, but having had enough of trying to find our own way I just called Patrick and asked directions. If you want to see pics of the day just check out Ken’s blog, he’ll probably have a different perspective on the events as well. Yep got me a long weekend.

Korea, Kevin and Kimchee: February 2007
http://koreamanley.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Korea, Kevin and Kimchee. How a different perspective can change your perspective. Perspective! Tuesday, February 27, 2007. Breakfast. Its what's in you. What you are looking at here is some of the last containers of Oatmeal I could find at the foreign market today. I’ve been to the foreign market about 4 times now and have probably bought a dozen canisters in that time. I noticed each time I went back that there was less and less available. And I suppose that is a possibility that I may have to face.
Korea, Kevin and Kimchee: October 2006
http://koreamanley.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Korea, Kevin and Kimchee. How a different perspective can change your perspective. Perspective! Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Speak like an American. No doubt about it! I still don't know how to work the washing machines and don't know when to put garbage out. I'm either going to figure at least one of those things out or learn to redefine my hygeine levels. Monday, October 30, 2006. First day of teaching. Anyway you can probably tell by the lacky of jokey-jokey in this entry that I'm dog tired, so I should...

Verb in Noun!: May 2007
http://mr-schwindt.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
First I called my blog Teaching in Pikangikum, then teaching in Poplar Hill. Now I'm teaching in Cape Croker, but I've realized my blog really isn't about teaching. It's about all kinds of things I do (hence, 'verb') and all of the places I do them (hence, 'noun'). I may update it more often, but I've made that promise before. Sunday, May 27, 2007. Survived another (short) week. And that's about all I have to say! So if you were looking for a long, heartfelt blog entry, sorry. Maybe next week ;-). I've n...

It has been, to say the least, a tumultuous week. Despite just 2 1/2 days of class, this past week was quite full and eventful. A) Who needs boyscouts?

My Korean Teaching Odyssey: Coping with a 10-Hour Time Change: The Plan
http://koreanteachingodyssey.blogspot.com/2008/02/coping-with-10-hour-time-change-plan.html
My Korean Teaching Odyssey. Documenting a year long trip to Korea to teach English. Monday, February 25, 2008. Coping with a 10-Hour Time Change: The Plan. Since I decided to teach in Korea, I've known I would have to face a 10-hour time change (well, it would have been 7 had I left from Victoria, but I'm not there right now). With this change looming in a few days I thought I would share my strategy. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Final Thoughts Before Departure.

My Korean Teaching Odyssey: Eating in Korea: Jeju Oranges
http://koreanteachingodyssey.blogspot.com/2008/03/eating-in-korea-jeju-oranges.html
My Korean Teaching Odyssey. Documenting a year long trip to Korea to teach English. Friday, March 28, 2008. Eating in Korea: Jeju Oranges. When I first came here, I saw oranges being sold that didn't quite look right. They had a leaf still attached (most of them) and the had a little bump on the top where the leaf came out. It wasn't until I was given a free orange at school that I actually tried them. It was by far, the most delicious orange I have ever eaten. The oranges come from Jeju Island. Coping w...

My Korean Teaching Odyssey. Documenting a year long trip to Korea to teach English. Saturday, April 5, 2008. A Few Good Words for Alphabet Street. When I first got offered a job at Alphabet Street. I have been working at the school for just over five weeks now and I have been pleasantly surprised. If you are thinking about accepting a job offer here, this is what I can tell you:. My Korean Teaching Odyssey: Why's the sky so yellow?
http://koreanteachingodyssey.blogspot.com/2008/03/whys-sky-so-yellow.html
My Korean Teaching Odyssey. Documenting a year long trip to Korea to teach English. Sunday, March 16, 2008. Why's the sky so yellow? When I first got here, I noticed a few things that caused me some concern. On most of the days I have been here, the sky has been very hazy, much like the sky in Southern Ontario on a hot smoggy summer day. I was confused since it is only March and not that warm. There are lots of cars on the road, but this just seemed worse than it should be. Yellow Dust on a car. I grew u...

My Korean Teaching Odyssey: A Tale of Two Airlines
http://koreanteachingodyssey.blogspot.com/2008/03/tale-of-two-airlines.html
My Korean Teaching Odyssey. Documenting a year long trip to Korea to teach English. Thursday, March 6, 2008. A Tale of Two Airlines. To get to Seoul, I took two flights and two different airlines: Air Canada and Korean Air. I cannot begin to explain how different the two experiences were for me. We even got snacks with our drinks (honey roasted peanuts! Note: I should also mention that Air Canada told us that the ticket we would have to buy would be refundable. Personally I did not believe that it wo...

My Korean Teaching Odyssey. Documenting a year long trip to Korea to teach English. Monday, March 24, 2008. Coping with a 10-hour Time Change: The Results. Before I left, I wrote about my plan for dealing with the big time change. Between Ontario and Seoul. Needless to say, I was pretty tired when I arrived. We landed early evening (it was about 5:30pm) and after a dinner out (more on that in a later post) and a brief stop to show us where the school is, we got in around 9pm. We slept right away ...In co...
