Different lighting setups at the Headshot Intensive. As I mentioned in the post about Peter Hurley's Headshot Intensive. We did quite a few different lighting setups. Peter's been shooting more natural lights lately, and he was encouraging us to do some of that as well. However, inside the studio, we also did some alternative lighting setups. This involves getting control of the factors that impact the result in the cup. There are a lot of things going in to making a good cup of espresso:. The coffee type / blend. The grind (fine or coarse). The packing of the ground coffee in the portafilter. The brewing temperature (water temperature and pressure). See where I'm going with this?

Photo by Peter Hurley. Currently living and working in Oslo, Norway. I started my career in the graphic design and prepress industry. Moved to web development and design around 1999. Around the same time, I co-founded a coffee shop in Horten (a 1 hour drive south of Oslo), something that was an incredible learning experience for a full 5 years. I still love coffee and run a web shop selling coffee capsules.

Now, the light was the same on both on them and I could take the final image you see in this article. Simple tip, perhaps, but it goes to show that by taking a little bit of control of the situation you can improve the result a lot. The below image shows before and after. Kristoffers - Feriebolig på gard i Trysil
Opplev det gode liv på Kristoffers. Slapp av og finn roen i naturskjønne omgivelser mellom skogen og elva. Familievennlig og rimelig overnatting nær aktiviteter som fiske og alpinbakke. Kristoffers er en gammel gard beliggende ved Trysilelva. Hovedhuset er fra 1905, og kårboligen som er for utleie er fra ca fra 1850.
