In search of my sober self, one day at a time. A Moment of Connection. July 22, 2015. This morning I did a guided meditation on gratitude, during which, I picked three things next to me, inanimate or not, that I felt grateful for. My hubby, my bed and my coffee, I visualized deep, warm, heart centered gratitude for these things and as I felt this welling up inside of me, my only thought was – “Holy shit! I have been so disconnected”. I am grateful for this moment of clarity, I plan to use it wisely🙂.

And a lot of what is to come is so, so good. And I am excited! There are also challenging things in store and also a few things that in retrospect, I want to change this time around…. So nice to be away, change the scenery a bit🙂 We are in a small mountain town visiting family and life seems simple here. Also I realized on the drive that my husband and I have a metaphorical road ahead of us but we are going to go down it together and I am comitted to make the best choices for my marriage and my family. I’ve been sober for almost 2.5 years now. 900 days tomorrow. Most of the time I do really well, and other days, I long for a drink I know I can’t have. My daughter was born at the end of June and I’ve been extremely busy since then. I haven’t even really had time to think about anything other than being a Mommy to this amazing little girl.

I went out for a chinese dinner with hubby and the food was amazing! And I did have a couple of chinese beers too. We couldn’t finish it so brought leftovers home.
