Fun day on Mount Huntington. Last week, I climbed the southwest face of Mount Huntington in the Alaska Range with Clint Helander. Basically, we repeated the crux pitches of the Phantom Wall (Smith-Teare, 1991), but missed the summit due to very bad weather. So call it whatever makes you feel good–I’m calling it a fun adventure up an incredibly beautiful mountain. More photos sometime soon! The west wall of Mount Huntington from the Tokositna Glacier. I may never get another winter where I can climb this much. The goal is to balance a well rounded workout with getting a lot of climbing done and really focusing on developing good patterns of movement.
