Leslie Tucker Jenison: August 2014
http://leslietuckerjenison.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 9, 2014. To The Festival of Quilts in Birmingham UK! I'm slow to post about my adventure to the Birmingham Festival of Quilts. Nose to the grindstone in my studio since returning as I have had a lot of work to do and was behind! Three best parts: my husband Tim went along with me and it was his FIRST-EVER quilt show! Second best part was reuniting with my dear friends from Committed to Cloth! Heading back to the UK for the second time this year! Here are some more. Now this is truly an O...
Leslie Tucker Jenison: October 2014
http://leslietuckerjenison.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 21, 2014. Introducing "Quilting: The New Classics"! All quilters draw inspiration from the past. But how do today's artisans put their personal stamp on classic patterns? The book also includes a history of each pattern, images of heirloom or museum-quality quilts for inspiration, easy-to-use templates and essential quilting techniques. Forwards by Meg Cox. I was thrilled and honored when my dear friend, Michele Muska,. Invited me to contribute to her book, " Quilting: The New Classics".

Way back in February I had the pleasure of taping several segments with Ricky Tims and Alex Anderson of " The Quilt Show. For a preview of the show. Here is a description:. Alex, Ricky, and I sat on the porch and talked about curating. Ricky tries his hand at deconstructed screen-printing for the first time! Also, if you are interested in becoming a member so you can access more of The Quilt Show. Creative...

Leslie Tucker Jenison: Colorful Fabric Collage! Come play inside Sue Bleiweiss' new book!
http://leslietuckerjenison.blogspot.com/2015/05/sue-bleiweiss-new-book.html
Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Come play inside Sue Bleiweiss' new book! Invited me to be a contributing artist in her new book I jumped at the opportunity to participate. First, I like and respect Sue as an artist and author. Second, I love to use fusible, and when I say fusible I am ONLY referring to Mistyfuse. Because it is the only kind I use! It works beautifully on a wide variety of quilt and mixed media projects. I love using Mistyfuse on both cloth and paper! Necessary. The main thing to remember if y...

Beyond the Rail: Lonestar Turtle
http://beyondtherail2010.blogspot.com/2011/04/lonestar-turtle.html
Tuesday, April 12, 2011. A customer brought me a lonestar quilt to work on last week. I love how this one was done. It's a turtle! My favorite creature from the sea. She really did a nice job on the colors for this quilt. It is a 63x63 wall hanging for another friend's new grandson. The border has waves, the blue corners are bubbles, and the stars are curved connections. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. My Blog List Favorites. Beyond the Rail: March 2011
http://beyondtherail2010.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 7, 2011. Soy wax resist and paints on silk. Took a workshop with Ginny Eckley and my Studio 105 friends last week. This is a piece that I worked on the second day. Haven't decided on the orientation of the finished piece. So far I've had three different suggestions as to what it is.what do you see in it? I love black and white, always have and I'm feeling the urge to make a lot more of these abstract black and whites with a small amount of color. Labels: soy wax resist with paints on silk.

Beyond the Rail: Artists' Garden
http://beyondtherail2010.blogspot.com/2011/08/artists-garden.html
Wednesday, August 3, 2011. For those of us who put ourselves in that precarious spot of submitting a piece for the show and wondering if we've managed to make a piece that attracts the jurist(s), it's a long wait from submission to getting the "envelope". (now an email). How we got here. Each artist was given a selection of photos and was asked to interpret it in their style or even try something new. My only parameters were the size of the block and that each piece had to be finished. Not So Fabulous Ju...
Cindy's Threads: One down 2 to go
http://cindysthreads.blogspot.com/2010/04/one-down-2-to-go.html
03 April, 2010. One down 2 to go. Because of the fiddle factor, I like to work on the heels when I'm sitting at home. The problem is that I usually have tons of other things to do at home so I rarely sit and knit. So, I have brought to Hong Kong with me 3 half finished pairs of socks. I finally finished the first pair. Yeah! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. A Friend to Knit With. The Knitting Guild Association. Quilting and Mixed Media. Cindy's Threads
http://cindysthreads.blogspot.com/2013/01/photos-of-work-i-have-done-in-2012.html
10 January, 2013. Photos of work I have done in 2012. GReat work so far! That hat could even be a circle project! I completely agree with free motion circles. Sounds so easy but trying to maintain a circle and keep the stitching somewhat even is VERY hard. Great idea to post a montage of all your work this year. Will post something to my blog sometime later this week. Monday, January 14, 2013. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. A Friend to Knit With. Quilting and Mixed Media.

http://cindysthreads.blogspot.com/2010/02/year-day.html
07 February, 2010. A Year A Day. I may not be real good about getting a blog post every day but I have been good about posting to my flickr account a photo a day for 2010. Check out my pictures here. I will try to start posting them here as well. Here is the latest picture that I had posted. I'm at Port Macquarie NSW at the moment and the pelicans are here! This is just one of the many photos that I took. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. A Friend to Knit With. A Year A Day.

I worked as a Registered Nurse for 2 decades. Most of those years were spent in Neonatal ICU with the preemie babies. Even though I was a nurse, I was still shocked when I read the statistics on the numbers of deaths related to cardiovascular issues with women. This fund raiser is a great example of working towards that goal.
