To Sing With Goats: June 2015
http://lifeatmennageriefarm.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 26, 2015. You know, I always thought I had a good handle on that word, that character trait. Turns out that I thought I did, only because I hadn't been tested on it yet. When the rubber meets the road, and your life isn't what you wanted/imagined, then you learn just how strong of a characteristic contentment is in your life. And in my life? The new, hip, way of making a point without quite swearing. I'm rather smitten with it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Top Commentators Of The Month! Simpl...
To Sing With Goats: May 2015
http://lifeatmennageriefarm.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Farm Girl to Farm Mom. So I left out a part of the story the other day when I gave y'all the latest scoop. A bit more has happened. I just needed some time to think about telling that part. To say it bluntly, my friends: I'm pregnant. Yeah For real. Like, there's a tiny, little human inside me. *insert slightly creeped-out look*. Although, I think the dear husband just might be more excited than me. We're both pretty tickled though. Saturday, May 23, 2015. It's All So Crazy. After ...
To Sing With Goats: I Want A Dairy Animal
http://lifeatmennageriefarm.blogspot.com/2015/07/i-want-dairy-animal.html
Thursday, July 9, 2015. I Want A Dairy Animal. I've come full circle. I'm ready to have a dairy animal again. Granted, there are a few obstacles in the way, like the fact that I live in town, no longer have ANY of my equipment, and have very little in the way of livestock-buying funds right now. But those are all minor obstacles that I have answers to, for the most part. I dunno'. To me that kind of defeats the point in a sense, as I'd really like to have access to raw milk. Go back to the old days?
To Sing With Goats: Ellie
http://lifeatmennageriefarm.blogspot.com/2015/07/ellie.html
Monday, July 6, 2015. Ellie, I don't miss you kicking me. But I do kind of miss your presence in the barn. And the way you were terrified of kittens. That was funny. Love/hate relationships. I have one of those with my goat Rosemary. Such a brat. July 7, 2015 at 12:02 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Top Commentators Of The Month! Subscribe to the exclusive content newsletter! To Sing With Goats: E.coli Came To Town
http://lifeatmennageriefarm.blogspot.com/2015/07/ecoli-came-to-town.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. Ecoli Came To Town. Not having access to news is usually a great thing in my mind; keeps my stress levels down. LOL. But, I could see how it would be very handy to know what's going on in the town when we suddenly have to boil our water because of an E.coli breakout! My husband assures me that it's better than water with iodine tablets in it, but that really doesn't make me enjoy my boiled water any more. Can I still do that with tap water? And what about taking a shower? And now, ...

Granny's Best: Growing Fodder (part 8) - Success
http://grannysbest.blogspot.com/2013/01/growing-fodder-part-8-success.html
Goat Dairy and Creamery. Friday, January 11, 2013. Growing Fodder (part 8) - Success. My dairy goats are energetically enjoying the Fodder that I'm growing for them. I was beginning to wonder if my efforts in building the Fodder System and growing the Fodder were a waste of time, effort, and money. But, feeding the fully grown 7 day old Fodder to my very pregnant does in the Kidding yard was met with enthusiasm for the fresh green food yesterday. Growing Fodder Part 1. Growing Fodder Part 2. I'll be conc...

Goat Dairy and Creamery. Friday, March 11, 2011. A Productive Day with Surprises. With the weather forecast to be in the upper 60's today . I had planned a lot of extra work to get done around the farm . and, scheduled help to accomplish the work! I've come to the conclusion that there just aren't enough hours in the day nor energy in my body to get all the work done that needs to be accomplished around here. J ready to go cut some trees and pull them around with the yard tractor. I received a wonderful ...
Choosing a Dairy Goat Breed

Mother Earth News Events. Mother Earth News Blogs. Self-reliance and sustainability in the 21st century. Choosing a Dairy Goat Breed. The most frequently asked question that people ask me about goats is,. What is the difference in each breed's milk taste, and how much milk do they average.". And that is always one of the hardest questions to answer, simply because there really aren't any solid answers I can give! Possible to give people an idea of what to expect from each breed. Each goat will vary.

Musings of a Milkmaid. Adventures on a small homestead. The Indian Ladder Trail. June 22, 2015. Middot; by daisysmilkmaid. The Park is most known for it’s famous Indian Ladder Trail. And that’s what we hiked. Wow. It was awesome. I was a bit nervous at times – one is basically walking on a foot-path above and below which are sheer cliffs. But it was still pretty amazing. The entrance to the Indian Ladder Trail. It began and ended with several flights of stairs. And another to show how sheer the cliffs are.

MY JOURNEY WITH NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP. What is Mas and Me? Do you remember my post about Bravo. A friend of mine just contacted me and said that she saw Bravo in a field near where she was working. He is at a new barn with a new owner and a nice field to play in. He lives near an area that I visit a lot so I am going to stop by and say “Hi”, and say sorry for not standing up for him that day. Bravo for Bravo! I’m sure he is one happy horse. On January 19, 2012 in Uncategorized. 2 responses to “. Center fo...

To Sing With Goats
Saturday, September 17, 2016. Dog Dilemma; Crossbred or Purebred? And that was my problem. I didn't feel like I could have another English Shepherd now because Gyp was so darn good! I was afraid I would constantly be comparing her to Gyp, expecting her to be like him, and getting upset when she failed to meet those expectations. That's no way to treat a dog. So I cancelled the deposit, and began researching other breeds for our budding farm. Back to the drawing board. Flush rabbits and birds out of the b...
