Foodie Culture: Homemade Granola
http://lifejourneys3-foodieculture.blogspot.com/2011/01/homemade-granola.html
Growing a worldly, healthy family one plate at a time. Jan 29, 2011. We finally broke down and made Our. Own. Granola. To put it mildly, it is *amazing*. Try this adapted Chow.com. Popped Amaranth Granola Recipe. Tiny grains of amaranth take on a nutty flavor and crispy texture when popped like popcorn in a pan. Here we combine them with coconut, cashews, and a touch of honey to create a sweet granola that goes great with yogurt or can simply be eaten by the handful. 1 cup amaranth seeds. Combine butter,...

Growing a worldly, healthy family one plate at a time. Jun 24, 2010. As I'm trying to prepare healthy, delicious snacks to bring along on our six-week road trip to the Pacific Northwest (yes, six weeks! Pear Wafers recipe (from Food and Wine, easily substituted with apples). Makes about 50 wafers. Total fat 0.7 gm. Saturated fat 0.3 gm. For two large pears, you will need one large sheet pan or two smaller ones. This recipe can easily be multiplied. If baking sheets are in short supply, you can ar...2 In ...

Growing a worldly, healthy family one plate at a time. Jul 25, 2010. We've always wanted to learn how to make soft cheeses, so we signed up for Cowgirl Creamery's tour. At Point Reyes Station. After I gushed about our taste test, my friend Martha promptly commented "RIP and enjoy all the flavors! LOL She's absolutely correct - Marin is a place for foodies who have died and gone to heaven! A close-up demonstration of curd making, and a guided tasting. Today We Are Making Red Hawk". The curds are dipped (s...

Growing a worldly, healthy family one plate at a time. Sep 18, 2010. Sometimes, the best treats in one's backyard are discovered away from home. This was the case with El Porteno. S empanadas. We came across these thin, flaky, delicious pocket pies at a farmers' market in Cupertino (where we picked up our Indonesian goodies from Golden Mar Catering). "Some of Us" (ahem) wondered if these rather expensive finger food delectables were "worth it". Ya betcha! A Pie in Every Pocket (Season 9). Sep 12, 2010.

Life Journeys | Everyone Has a Story – What's Yours?
Everyone has a story. What's Yours? Life is not a dress rehersal…. 8220;Debby Stephens has a way of drawing you into her story with her and the hand of God. She rises up over self-pity and allows God to transform her and see the truth behind the hurt. The pain and loss in life are real, but they do not kill. Many will be encouraged by Debby’s honest portrayal of God who redeems us through our pain, not always from it.”. Dr William Brown, President of Cedarville University. Subscribe to Life Journeys.
