Fanciful – Literature Rhythms

https://literaturerhythms.wordpress.com/2016/09/06/fanciful

Because literature is like music, it has a rhythm of it's own. September 6, 2016. Love floated in the chiming of fancy bells. We bought when we were birds. We’ve worn masks bought from antique shops,. All the smiling faces tangled into letters. We wrote on highways at night. We hid them in dusty closets. Where they crumpled into sand. And blew them over deserts where no one has ever loved. Rain reaches us through broken windows,. And winds sigh telling us to let it go. We threw our masks in the river,.

Promised Roses – Literature Rhythms

https://literaturerhythms.wordpress.com/2016/09/12/promised-roses

Because literature is like music, it has a rhythm of it's own. September 12, 2016. Roses scatter on dusty roads. Where we’ve left glimpses. Of a past remembered like tail lamps. Glowing, fleeting past, forgotten soon. The nights now run off into alleys. Where old streetcars sigh in their sleep. The roses once stared from confined apartments. And we stared at their reflection on glass panes. Morning will sweep away the roses into gutters,. And they will be dust, dust. Pouring over days we’d promised.

Quote challenge. Day 3 – Literature Rhythms

https://literaturerhythms.wordpress.com/2016/09/10/quote-challenge-day-e

Because literature is like music, it has a rhythm of it's own. September 10, 2016. September 10, 2016. Quote challenge. Day 3. I was nominated by Vinitha for the daily quote challenge. I have shared two of my favourite quotes in the past few days and today is the last one. I had a tough time in trying to figure out what quote to post. But finally I chose this one as it reminds us all of a past forgotten and left alone. And we are nothing without our past.:-). Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Notify...

If I Was Your Answer – Melancholy Hyperbole

https://melancholyhyperbole.com/2015/08/03/if-i-was-your-answer

Review: Tailgating at the Gates of Hell. If I Was Your Answer. August 3, 2015. I’d probably already know the question. I wouldn’t mouth what,. Like a screen door smacks in the wind what, what would it take,. Could I divulge it. I wouldn’t cringe between the hair-triggers. And eyes charcoaled with grief. Did I do that to you? Against our frame. A goldfish may leap out of its tank, suffocate. A betta may just bludgeon itself to death. When you go, you have. But I don’t and I don’t. Work has appeared in.

Working on Moving On – Melancholy Hyperbole

Review: Tailgating at the Gates of Hell. Working on Moving On. August 3, 2015. I’m sure to wear my pantyhose,. The nude, sensible kind snag free,. Professional, and I smooth my skirt down. You won’t find me now with my knees. And their knobby faces, their shamey pink flesh. I burned myself to a magenta flush. My first ironing job, the whole. 3-jointed siding of one finger puckered up,. Then off. Like a bloom. Or a kiss. I’ve got it down pat: pleats,. Darts, cuffs and collars. I have closed-toed pumps.

Too Smart For Your Own Good – Illian Rain

https://illianrain.com/2015/08/09/too-smart-for-your-own-good

I write things. Lots of things. Too Smart For Your Own Good. August 9, 2015. I was sardined on a bus with garlic pesto-breath blowing in from the east and a mother. Son argument brewing in the west. In honour of my gag reflex I opted for the argument. I opted into eye contact with the kid. He was maybe six years old and cute as a button a deer-in-headlights button at the moment. Too smart for his own good. This was his mother’s opinion. What does that even mean? Well kid, I have no idea what’d ya’ do?

Falling in Love with the Fist in my Mouth – Melancholy Hyperbole

Review: Tailgating at the Gates of Hell. Falling in Love with the Fist in my Mouth. August 2, 2015. My father is sturdy. The skin on his hands is meaty and calloused and heavily scarred. The veins dance in thick ropes, the lines cut deep and permanent into pink flesh. I could look at his hands for hours. That pair of hands has lived passionately, and they live independently of the fist in his mouth. If there’s anything I got from my Daddy, it’s the fist in his mouth. Magazines, and she works for. Requiem for Useful Things – Melancholy Hyperbole

https://melancholyhyperbole.com/2015/08/01/requiem-for-useful-things

Review: Tailgating at the Gates of Hell. Requiem for Useful Things. August 1, 2015. For Alfreda Boblick, 1924-2015. I am startled by the bird cry of the dry, metal. Hinges fastened to the nameless device. Rusting at the back of my grandmother’s garage. It’s something corrugated, with a handcrank. I find it only after she passes,. After it’s too late to ask her what it’s good for. Bird song forever echoes now that nameless absence,. The times I’ve failed to know. An old thing’s usefulness. Poetry has appe...

Literature Sometimes Easy :3

Literature Sometimes Easy :3. Monday, 6 February 2012. We chose a scene in Florence where Mrs Carter is telling Mama about Zelma, a black woman character in the novel. We chose this scene because this scene shows that some of the white people thinks that black people are weak and unable to confront with troubles and discrimination. in reality, the blacks are strong enough to face the discrimination and they fought for their rights. Monday, February 06, 2012. Wednesday, 18 January 2012. B) We do agree bec...
