You and Your Broken Single. My adventures in fiber. May 6, 2008. Shop Update on Friday. Posted by amysbabies under Uncategorized. So, I have been a busy little bee recently, but I still got a little crafting done. I took these Romney singles. And holding two strands together as I crochet, I made this rug for in front of the back door. It was a fun and fast rug. I started working on my next rug. No photos yet, but it will be the largest project I have ever worked on! So far this one is my favorite. Enter ...

Live, Eat, Breathe Yarn and Fibre. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. September 14, 2016. Esmee and me chilling on the sofa, watching really bad tv while I try and get better from a stomach bug. Actually, it’s more like me stroking esmee’s belly while she chills! Anyway. Hopefully there’ll be a better post soon with actual knitting content. August 14, 2016. I realise it’s been a while (3 years! Hopefully I’m back now and I can concentrate on getting this blog back up and running. And fou...

Ancient Lace in a Modern Age. Posted by Heather Tatter. Asymp; 11 Comments. This is the first state fair I’ve ever entered, it it was a fascinating lesson in the bureaucracy of crafts. I have no idea about the judging, but getting my doily in and out was a trial. Anyway, here is the doily I entered, and received second place. The judge’s comments were:. The pattern is from the book. Made in size 10 thread and measures about 40 cm across. You might also like:. Here's to the Lefties. Larr; Previous post.

Weekend In Progress…. | I'm A YarnSnob....

I'm A YarnSnob…. Weekend In Progress…. Sew…can I sew? Well I won’t say I’m an experienced seamstress. I mean, I can sew a little, have made duvet covers and pillow cases. I once got full grades at school for making a simple dress with pockets, that I sewed on the front and through the back and couldn’t understand why it wouldn’t slip over my head. A simple tote bag and some curtains but nothing as advanced at this. Who was I kidding, ME….make that? But I did get the final cut and enough to make two bags.

Hand- and machine-knitting, Japanese knitting and crochet. May 21, 2010. What’s on the needles. The other day I cast on for this Pierrot Yarns sweater vest. Click here for Ravelry link. That’s been in my knitting/crochet queue for a long time. There’s a knit-a-long on Ravelry. It’s a lot more yellow and less orange than the photo shows. I’m pretty pleased with it so far. Let’s see… what else? This entry was posted in hand knitting. Shaping notation in Japanese patterns →. May 21, 2010 at 5:36 PM. The Eng...

Japanese pattern-reading tutorial: Lesson 4a crochet – dancingbarefoot
https://dancingbarefoot.wordpress.com/2010/02/08/tutorial-lesson-4a-crochet
Hand- and machine-knitting, Japanese knitting and crochet. February 8, 2010. Japanese pattern-reading tutorial: Lesson 4a crochet. The reason the pattern switches to showing symbols in rows rather than in a circle is that for several rows, you’re just going to work even (i.e., no increases), and then you’re going to decrease. It’s hard to chart both increases and decreases in a circular chart, hence the switch to lines. Anyway, just trust the chart! When it’s finished, it should look something like...
