They were hospitable, warm and made sure we were fed twice a day. We even had our own room to lay out our stuff. 2 mile walk to the orphanage. Our experience upon arriving in Nepal was eye opening. Where was the local Starbucks? Where can we get a Big Mac? What did we get ourselves into? We made great friends. There was trash everywhere. Connect 4 was a hit.

The project will require Internet wiring, tables, lighting, computer training, hardware, software and maintenance. If possible we would like to also purchase a printer/scanner and digital camera for the kids, they love taking pictures! We will be holding various fund raisers throughout 2010-2011 and asking for donations. We truly appreciate any support given!

Our hearts had grown tenfold and improving their lives meant so much more than our own discomforts. Fast forward to 2010. And there we were. The ride was set for August 20-21. It was mid-July when we decided this. Plenty of time to train for a 90 mile bike ride right? I definitely would take full advantage of the entire month right?

And lucky for us we had a so many friends and family to help us. It was with everyone’s support that we were able to do so much in Nepal. It’s so addicting we can’t seem to stop. We continued our fundraising efforts in 2010 with a few events and will be heading back to Nepal in 2011.with baby in tow! A sincere thank you to all of our 2009 donors.
