The Family Scientista: Ironing Board Cover
http://thefamilyscientista.blogspot.com/2010/08/ironing-board-cover.html
Sunday, August 1, 2010. This past year I have done more ironing than ever before. After wearing scrubs to school for 4 years my husband now has to wear a shirt and a tie to school/work everyday and on Sundays for church. I really don't mind ironing too much, but it certainly can be time consuming. The nice thing about making your own is that you can customize it to your laundry room, house, and have something more fun and original than the covers from the store. Layout your fabric (pre-shrunk) and lay yo...

The Family Scientista: Favorite Things Birthday Banner!
http://thefamilyscientista.blogspot.com/2012/01/favorite-things-birthday-banner.html
Sunday, January 15, 2012. Favorite Things Birthday Banner! Today is my husband's birthday and our cute little kids really wanted to decorate his birthday cake with all of his favorite things (Blazers, Tim Tebow, Boise State Football etc. . .). However, he doesn't really like cake and will be having pie for his birthday so I directed them to make a banner instead. I think we might make this 'Favorite Things Banner' a new tradition in our family! Your birthday is about YOU, right? On Juice in the City.

The Family Scientista: Hello Pinterest!!
http://thefamilyscientista.blogspot.com/2012/01/hello-pinterest.html
Saturday, January 7, 2012. I avoided it for as long as I could, Pinterest. That is. I knew another social network would suck up more of my time each day (I'm not always great at managing my time), but I caved. I asked to be invited and yesterday when I got the email to make my account I did it. As soon as I got started and saw everything that people posted on their boards my heart starting racing, but in a totally anxiety filled way. Talk about sensory overload! Or 'Recipes to Try'. So simple and I LOVE.

The Family Scientista: Nativity Wall Hanging
http://thefamilyscientista.blogspot.com/2011/12/nativity-wall-hanging.html
Tuesday, December 6, 2011. A few years ago I spotted those glass block with the vinyl nativity on them and fell in love. It was the simplicity of the black silhouette that caught my eye, so elegant in portraying the miraculous birth of our Savior. I immediately bought 2 sets from Say It On The Wall. Knowing I wanted one for myself and that the other would be gifted to my mom. Here's what I did (with no pictures since it was made several years ago). Cut nice white card stock and stuck the vinyl to it.

Thursday, February 2, 2012. Cleaning Your Microwave - The Easy Way. Do you cringe when you hear the 'pop' coming from your microwave as your warming up your lunch? Yeah, me too. It's just another mess to clean up that probably could have been prevented by a simple napkin placed over the plate. Kind of annoying, right? If you're like me you probably got distracted and didn't clean up the mess right away so things are now hard and crusty. Lovely! Well here is my simple method for cleaning my dirty microwave.

The Family Scientista: How to Keep Cilantro Fresh
http://thefamilyscientista.blogspot.com/2012/01/how-to-keep-cilantro-fresh.html
Saturday, January 14, 2012. How to Keep Cilantro Fresh. My husband and I really like to use fresh cilantro. It can liven up a plain salad, give a kick to a bean burrito and add a splash of color to a variety of dishes. However, cilantro can get limp and gross in a hurry. A few years ago I came across this little tip to keep your cilantro perky, fresh and ready to use. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). On Juice in the City. View my complete profile.
