Overcoming the ballet body image. Last week was Teacher Appreciation Week. On Friday, I received several nice notes from students. 4 of them were written in Spanish – I think they wrote them in a Spanish class. Since I know absolutely no Spanish beyond hello, goodbye, thank you, friend, and counting to ten, I asked a colleague who teaches Spanish to help translate them. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Overcoming the ballet body image. We then went for our final meeting with our pastor. It was an easy and successful meeting – he said that he’s so comfortable with how it’s going to go that we could do it this Friday. That’s very good news to me. It creates an even more relaxed mood about the whole thing. We got all the bases covered and everything is good to go. When we got home we watched our slideshow and I love that too! Today we got the marriage license! I was also nervous to go this afternoon since...

Overcoming the ballet body image. My dancing journey began when I was just 4 years old. My parents, as most parents of a young daughter would do, decided to enroll me in a once a week ballet/tap class. I don’t remember much from those days, except that the classes were at the local YMCA and my teacher was named Robin. I did two recitals there before moving to an actual studio: Hart Academy of Dance. Basically, ballet had been controlling my life in more ways than one. It dominated my thoughts, contro...

Overcoming the ballet body image. February 24, 2013. Crock Pot Teriyaki Chicken. Today was a rest day. It was much needed after yesterday’s 22 miler. I also realized today after reading Skinny Runner. 8216;s post that we totally ran past her yesterday. Not that I’m a creeper or anything. I gorged on cereal and also had coffee. Nothing unusual. During breakfast the cat posed for me. Also not unusual. Tonight’s dinner was delicious and oh so easy. Crock Pot Teriyaki Chicken. 1 20-oz can pineapple chunks.

Running is something I’m pretty new at. I ran a bit in high school, but nothing serious. Just 1.5 mile runs a few days a week. I had a brief interest in running track in junior high and again in high school, but nothing ever came from it. Ballet. In February 2011, I cut back on ballet. The night before that race, I decided to be crazy and s...
