Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Lunar Eclipse April 2014. The first of four eclipses this year, I was outside for about an hour to witness the total lunar eclipse visible from our location! The earth completely shadows the moon. Because of the atmosphere on Earth, the sunlight filtering around it makes the moon appear a dark red, nicknamed the "Blood Moon.". This is the actual color I observed. And finally, the eclipse fades from the moon. Can't wait for the next one! Posted by Will and Christine.

Sunday, September 25, 2011. Pets, Hawks, Sunset, and Canning. Now that the weather is cooler and Fall is here, (Yay, Autumnal Equinox! Will and I thought we'd do a "pet" post. Thursday, November 22, 2012. We had a great Thanksgiving! Mindy and Tim and their kids Mia, Carmen, and Miles visited from Missouri. The girls immediately took to Cody. As the turkey slowly cooked, we walked down to Lake Nokomis to enjoy the remaining hours of nice weather. During a fateful game of My Little Ponies, Cody received some pretty barretts. Saturday, February 18, 2012. As faithful readers of this blog know, last year we upgraded our old inexpensive knives with a great set of Wusthof. This year, we had on our list an upgrade of our pots and pans. We've had the same mismatched cookware for years, and they were in very bad shape. Who knows how much teflon we've ingested over the last 7 years. . . Anyway, we didn't plan to do it today, but while out shopping for other things we went to The Kitchen Window. A brand new 14 piece set of All-Clad.

Saturday, October 27, 2012. I've continued riding lessons for a whole year at Windy Ridge Ranch. Now I'm in a more advanced class. (Okay. It is "Advanced Beginner.") I was also assigned a new horse. Gammon is not quite as tall as Photon. But he's built like a mack truck. He's also half Friesian. Just as a fun side fact, the chestnut horse behind us is Juniper, who is Photon's niece! Sunday, August 21, 2011. Weekend Front Yard Project. Our sewer disaster got me to thinking about the front yard. I've never really liked the Hostas, but they worked. This weekend it was time to pull them out, give them away, and start with something new. Are somewhat small now, but next year they'll be Hosta sized and have a much more unique leaf. Also, I put in some Heuchera. For accent and color, and they'll fill out nicely too. Mom and Dad, notice we found a nice place to display the Italian pottery!

Sunday, October 20, 2013. Will went over for the Frankfurt Book Fair. And this year, I met him over there for the end of the fair. It is the largest trade fair in the world for books, and quite an impressive site! All the buildings below are part of it. There are 10 halls with publishers from all over the world. Frankfurt has many sites to see! The public square in Altstadt (Old Town). The town was bombed during the war, but faithfully reconstructed to show the 1500's style houses. And the Palm Garden:.

Thursday, December 29, 2011. Wait, didn't you just buy a Volkswagen? Yes, yes we did. . . But when we bought the first one, my eye was drawn to the beautiful 4-door coupe that Volkswagen calls the CC. I made it a little more than a year before I broke down and just had to own one.
