Now I need a "Lissa's Accompanist" t-shirt. - Phil. June 26th, 2013. Now I need a "Lissa's Accompanist" t-shirt. Trip out was about as good as one can expect. Flight was late enough in the morning that we only had to get up at reasonably-stupid-o-clock, reasonably stupid probably being an apt description of both of us given we were already awake somewhat before that! So we had about a 2 hour journey via train and underground. How things change. 16 years ago I rather suspect our electronic devices wer...

A Filktron Bomb, or Filkaboom - Grapeshot Canon
http://scifantasy.livejournal.com/365720.html
A Filktron Bomb, or Filkaboom - Grapeshot Canon. The basic facts of infinite realities. 28 February 2011 @ 09:55 pm. A Filktron Bomb, or Filkaboom. I came up with this a few weeks ago, and demonstrated it at yesterday's Jersey City housefilk. I have developed what can only be described as the Neutron Bomb of Filk: it gets rid of all the people but leaves the building standing. I would ask for forgiveness, but Leslie Fish is on record never forgiving, and Richard O'Brien probably doesn't care. This entry ...

Through the Fields of Academia. Nov 2nd, 2013 at 4:38 PM. I should wear the Cone of Shame for how long Ive been away from LJ. My goal is to clean out my inbox every couple of days. Good luck, me. 1) Do you use technology or the Internet to enjoy filk or communicate with the filk community? How do you do this? 2) How would you describe your relationship with the Internet? What types of tech do you use? What tech do you avoid? 4) How has filk changed since the launch of the Internet? 5) Do you create filk?

Like JUST presented.were on break now. I sort of got reamed by my professor over the issue of Why. So Ill pose the question to you guys. More broadly, why participate in fandom? More specifically, why filk? Or Why do you play music that is over 100 years old? Is it because this Art music is high culture? I partic...

Listening: Teaching with Berstein's Kaddish Symphony - Curious.
http://musicahumana.livejournal.com/4608.html
Perhaps a lunatic is simply a minority of one. George Orwell. Listening: Teaching with Berstein's Kaddish Symphony. Oct 8th, 2008 at 10:26 PM. I am deeply attached to this piece. And I sat in my parent's room- where the LP player was situated- and I just listened. I was drawn to the music on a level that I still can't understand. Could God value that? I found that in my heart, I longed for what I heard in the Kaddish Symphony. By moving me on a incredibly personal and spiritual level, this piece had ...

Listening: Teaching Texture - Curious.
