Tuesday, 1 January 2013. Ration Book Year - Day 1. Today is the first day of my Rationing year. Every 2 months will represent 1 year. I am starting in 1940 because in 1939 they didn't have any food rationing, hence the phrase 'phoney war'. One week's ration for one adult. The first meal of my rationed diet i had was corned beef fritters with 2 slices of wholemeal bread and butter and one apple for pudding. From the book 'We'll Eat Again'. Ta ta for now!
