Waiting for Charlie...: Europe and the Faith "Sine auctoritate nulla vita"
http://majellamom.blogspot.com/2012/02/europe-and-faith-sine-auctoritate-nulla.html
Eva and Charlotte: two prayers answered! Saturday, February 04, 2012. Europe and the Faith "Sine auctoritate nulla vita". Mustard Seed (along with Quo Vadis. Belloc begins with the question: What was the Roman Empire? Next, he asks: What was the Church in the Roman Empire? He also asks, What was the Reformation?

Eva and Charlotte: two prayers answered! Friday, February 03, 2012. Welcome to the Daisy Flower Garden - a Journey Review. Well, today I thought I should blog about something, and since yesterday was our Girl Scout day and my Daisies pretty much finished up the " Welcome to the Daisy Flower Garden. Good Company: Meet the Teachers
http://ngoodcompany.blogspot.com/2013/08/meet-teachers.html
Sunday, August 25. Friday was our school's "Meet the Teachers.". Gregory and Clare were so excited to head in and see their new classrooms, collect their supplies, and get back in the swing of things. Gregory walked into his classroom and sat down at his desk. He was ready to go. Clare was more excited to see her best friends and catch up after the summer. And Ree was sad because she didn't get to meet and greet anyone. She wants to go to school too. Whimsy-Whimsy: Catholic Homeschool: Wombs of Life
http://whimsy-whimsy.blogspot.com/2009/03/wombs-of-life.html
Has a new post! It is on the beatitudes. I reproduce it here because I thought it was very thoughtful! Womb of the Beatitudes: Solidarity. In reading the beatitudes in Matthew's Gospel, I have often come away puzzled as to how these actually fit into my everyday life. What does it mean to be meek or be poor in spirit or to be pure of heart? What do these things on a practical level mean for my life: my relationships with God, others, and myself? From all Eternity Jesus as God the Son is loved by and bego...

Formerly lonely until he realized he was rich in soul. Now he's nothing but lucky. Tuesday, February 27, 2007. Ah, the pleasures of delving into the riches of the Bard! I did a Google search yesterday on his quotes. I came up with some doozies:. And thus I clothe my naked villainy. With old odd ends, stol'n forth. Of holy writ; And seem a saint,. When most I play the devil. For they are yet ear-kissing arguments. Glory is like a circle in the water,. Which never ceaseth to enlarge itself,. As You Like It.

SAT prep for grade school. Friday, February 20, 2009. Preparing for the SAT and ACT in Grade School. I know that sounds funny, but what can you do to prepare your children for a high school standardized test in grade school? Here's what I've learned:. 1 The SAT and ACT are *not* the be all and end all tests to show what your child can or can't do. However, they are almost universally accepted by colleges and universities and they will rate your children based on these tests. Both tests last over 3 hours,...

Whimsy-Whimsy: Catholic Homeschool: Boxes
http://whimsy-whimsy.blogspot.com/2009/03/boxes.html
I went to an "Evening of Rest" at a Baptist Church this evening. (I was invited by a member.) There were many homeschoolers there, and I really felt a "sisterhood" on that front. When I first arrived, a meal was served, and I had very huge potato (that's the only size they had :-) and some green been salad and a fruit cup - not really a "small" meal. The woman sitting next to me said, "oh, I see you're not eating much." I said, "well, I'm not eating meat today.". I admit I find that appealing to the ...

Good Company: January 2013
http://ngoodcompany.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 31. Links to this post. Friday, January 25. We're still working with Gregory on reading. It doesn't naturally appeal to him, and he doesn't see it as fun. He'd rather be running outside non-stop playing football, baseball or soccer. He values sports. Part of that (in my opinion) is how much his dad and grandpa enjoy them. So we tried a little experiment where John offers to read with Gregory and makes a big deal of it (like with Redskins games). Links to this post. Links to this post.
