The life and times of the Manella family. Tootsie is one lazy travel dog. While Tootsie has been flitting about the globe since our last post, she has neglected her duties of nudging us with her wet nose to update the blog. As she's now settled into her new life in Ecuador, we're hoping she will take her job more seriously. Tootsie has made this her resting spot as it is one of the. Only carpeted spots in the house. So here's the quick update to get everybody back up to speed on the Manella clan. Speakin...

Fruit: On my plate, in my belly, of my loins! View my complete profile. Thursday, May 24, 2007. Fruit: On my plate, in my belly, of my loins! I thought, hey - Annie and Ben have a good idea, what a great way to share stuff about an impending family member. So, as my uterus and placenta work on my new addition to the world's population, I thought I'd try this blog thing out. Ok, second because babies are often referred to in utero as the fruit of one's loins. So, there you have it. Fruit. As both of my br...

Travel Dog: Flying Solo
http://traveldog-tootsie.blogspot.com/2011/12/flying-solo.html
The life and times of the Manella family. I admittedly have been terrible about updating this blog which is too bad because we've been busy. Well I guess that's why I haven't updated the blog. Mike's been in Ukraine and Hungary for work, I have been working on some contract work and we've been trying to get out of Pristina as much as possible. Maybe I'll do some retro posts on Istanbul and Montenegro as they were both awesome trips. 1 If you are traveling with two kids and a stroller, you will need to as...

The life and times of the Manella family. Our first meal out at an English pub. Mike's been back here to watch some premier league games. We headed down the steps into town for dinner on Saturday which was a nice walk. We quickly realized three things: Zoe needed to step up her game when it comes to walking, people here REALLY love kids and we weren't going to be picking up Albanian too quickly. Dragodan stairs, we're all going to have great legs after 2 years here. Mike, Meri, Zoe, Zack and Tootsie.

The life and times of the Manella family. A Day in the life of Zoe. Circle time with Ms. Teuta and Ms. Elma, Zoe's teachers. As we recently got a bunch of great pictures from Zoe's teacher of her day at school, I thought I would try and capture what her normal day is like here in Pristina. Ribbon cutting ceremony at new ILG. Her school, ILG (International Learning Group http:/ www.ilg-ks.eu/. Moved over the winter break to a new location which is awesome! A chemist in training? Zoe and her pal Fransje.

The life and times of the Manella family. From Full House to Empty Nest. That title just rolled off the keyboard and then I realized that I was pulling in two sitcoms titles.oh well the title stays. My parents finally arrived in Oaxaca around 10:30 pm on April 2nd after a truly hellacious day of air travel. I offered them very little rest and promptly shipped them off on a 10 hour tour of Mitla, a mescal factory, Teotitlan del Valle, and Hierve del Agua (see our previous post on this location). Every pla...

The life and times of the Manella family. Reunited and it feels so good! In early July we were lucky enough to have some great friends come into town. Over 4th of July weekend, Paul and Sergio stopped in for some rainy BBQ and Rock Band action before they headed off to New York. Unfortunately, our camera hadn't arrived yet so there are no pictures from that weekend, boo. By the end of the night our table was a great mix of grad school, Peace Corps, old roomies, and Oaxaca friends. Good times. Even though...
