Monday, 24 October 2011. Manaslu trek - now a tea-house trek. Hking across a stream on the Manaslu Circuit Trek. Before summer 2010, the Manaslu trek was a camping trek. At least it required one very long day early on plus a cold night of camping and cooking at 4460m. For the independent Manaslu trekker, it made it difficult, as food, tent and equipment had to be carried for that one night. Then a basic tea-house was built at Larkya Phedi. The trek can be walked in anything from two-weeks.

Himalaya spring season kicking off. A beautiful winter’s day in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in January. As far as expeditions are concerned, I need to get my head around who is coming and who is not. However, in order to get a clearer picture I need to get back to Kathmandu, talk to Miss Hawley and contact all the trekking agencies to find out what is happening this season.
