Kary's Korner: August 2014
http://karyskorner.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 17, 2014. A few weeks ago, our family took a hike up in the April Bowl in the Hatcher Pass Mountains. It was a glorious day. Ray and Stephen decided to honor their Scottish heritage and hike in the Highlands with their kilts on. I have come to accept that Ray loves wearing his kilt. And, of course, Stephen wants to be cool like Daddy, so he's all for it too. Hope you enjoy the journey with us through the many photos below:. Stephen loves trail running. Is he pole vaulting? Happy hikers; es...

New Darbyworld: A New Twist
http://newdarbyworld.blogspot.com/2013/06/a-new-twist.html
Tuesday, June 4, 2013. You probably saw it coming, felt the ground move as it approached- but I must admit I was clueless that the end of my marriage was drawing near. Yes, we had problems, yes yes yes. I'm not going to dwell on that. The core of the thing is that, as of yesterday, our family changed officially and finally as Patrick and my divorce became final. How do I feel? Depressed. Smug. Uncomfortable. Afraid. Overjoyed! It's a mosh pit of emotions. Mostly, I am hopeful. June 5, 2013 at 2:48 PM.

Friday, October 19, 2012. Pirate Girl and Sea Life Boy. Here's McKinley, our Preschool Pirate girl. A few weeks ago, her PS class celebrated National Pirate Day. Did you know there was a National Pirate day? Stephen celebrated his 6th birthday with sea life creatures everywhere. We decorated downstairs (Mom and me) at 11:00pm so that it would look like an "under. The sea" ocean scene. Notice the blue sheet in the corner, the surprise fish tank is. Can you see the joy in that expression? Our best option (...

Alaska Times: Culture Night At Wonder Park!
http://paskettfamily.blogspot.com/2009/01/culture-night-at-wonder-park.html
Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Culture Night At Wonder Park! Or should I say "Ohla" This is my little girl at the Culture Night at her school. I dressed her in her "pulatasi", (a traditional Samoan dress for all you none Samoan speaking folks) and then she won the sombrero for a door prize. Cute Hugh! My sisters, Leilani, Rachael, and Kaye (below) came to help with the evening. They were sweating as they made who knows how many candy leis for the kids and their parents. I am so lucky to have family...Yes, ...

Saturday, January 30, 2010. The Joys of Snow. I was looking through old pictures and found this one from a few winters ago. It is both disturbing and amusing. Wednesday, January 13, 2010. Princesses and Fun With Photo Booth! Once upon a time there were two lovely princesses who loved to get their pictures taken. . . . . And they had a lot of fun! Wednesday, January 6, 2010. My brother Luke was kind enough to donate his room for the duration of our visit- thank you, Luke! This year we made a cake- ok, I m...

New Darbyworld: Randomness
http://newdarbyworld.blogspot.com/2010/10/randomness.html
Friday, October 15, 2010. School has begun and the blog has again been neglected! We have all been busy as bees over here with our various activities. Patrick is back at school full-time this semester. He has another semester left and then another of student teaching to finish. He is pretty well-recovered from his clavicle-breaking earlier this year and only whimpers in pain occasionally when a small child steps on his collar. . . Isaac is now in the third grade! Stay tuned for photos! Ms Leah is getting...

New Darbyworld: December 2009
http://newdarbyworld.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 28, 2009. Eight years ago on Christmas Eve a precious little baby was born. That night was very special as his mother felt like she could understand, in some small way since she didn't give birth to a baby unattended in a dirty animal stall, how the Savior's mother felt. It was love at first sight for me- as soon as I saw that tiny little baby I loved him fiercely! Isaac has grown into a caring, wonderful little boy and I am so proud of him! Ok, enough bragging-. Happy birthday, Isaac!

New Darbyworld: April 2010
http://newdarbyworld.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 19, 2010. I hate to be redundant. . . But there is still no baby being born over here. Went in this morning for a visit. Dilated to 3- yea! They wouldn't strip my membranes because the midwife on call had her hands full of laboring pregos and the other hospital. . . But tomorrow I shall call and see if things have slowed down a bit. . . . Oh yes, a side note: yesterday I started taking blue and black cohosh and it seems to have kicked some things into gear. . . . . Wednesday, April 14, 2010.

Alaska Times: Schools Closed
http://paskettfamily.blogspot.com/2009/01/schools-closed.html
Wednesday, January 14, 2009. Felicia still made it into work this morning and I will be dropping Taryn off at her Auntie's house so I can go to work at 1. I expect it to be a very busy and lousy day for me at work with this bad weather spreading over much of the state. Airplanes don't handle freezing rain very well, nor do they handle icy runways with very much grace either. I found this this morning about what we had at work yesterday:. Published: January 13th, 2009 04:11 PM. Schools and universities we...
