The 3am alarm call came around all too soon and it was already getting light so I didn’t have long to get back into the hide unseen – I couldn’t really ask Colin to help on this occasion! Mark Hamblin has been working as a freelance nature photographer since 1995. He was brought up in Warwickshire, where he developed an early interest in birdwatching and photography, winning the Young Ornithologist Club's photograph of the year in 1980! It perhaps satisfies a natural ‘hunter’ instinct in us – particularly for blokes! There is of course more than an element of ego involved here and who isn’t bouyed by positive comments about their images from friends, colleagues and very often complete strangers through social networking sites? Aquí en Cataluña en apenas un mes empezaremos a ver volar por nuestros campos las que dan inicio a la temporada. Hoy repasando mi archivo fotográfico del pasado año para consultar fechas, me he encontrado con esta imagen de una Lagartija Ibérica tomada una mañana de finales del mes de Julio en la Vall de Ribes mientras fotografiaba la Parnassius apollo. Tal y como comentaba al principio, éste es el tercer año consecutivo que visito el lugar para mi encuentro anual con la Zerynthia rumina.
