Seeking Something: April 2007

http://maryanninchile.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 30, 2007. I'm sitting at my dorm room. Desk in Salem, Oregon, surrounded by colored pencils, empty coffee cups, to-do lists, and homework. Amid this modge. Mess of the average college student, only a dozen pieces of paper seem to matter. These forms, filled out, accurate, and returned on time, are my metaphorical ticket to freedom. If only they weren't currently so imprisoning. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Seeking Something: September 2007

http://maryanninchile.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 30, 2007. We spent three days in the amazing chunk of Chile called the Atacama Desert. Our hostel, in the tourist-student paradise town called San Pedro de Atacama, was entirely too awesome for the short sleeps we spent there. We ate lots of relatively tasty Chilean food, saw some September 18th celebrations, and took fantastic tours to beautiful and diverse landscapes, documented here in photos:. We also swam in hot springs on this tour! Wednesday, September 26, 2007. The coca tea, how...

Seeking Something: October 2007

Wednesday, October 24, 2007. I can't let it rule my life here, however difficult that might be. I'm leaving friday for a week in Buenas Aires (I'll see IH! And trying my best to change my outlook on life. No matter what I do to cheer myself up, though, it's always stressing me out in the background. I suppose only time and healing can really change that, but I'm in no hurry to just wait. Monday, October 22, 2007. A little bit of gangrene never hurt anyone. Today, I went to see a dermatologist to talk abo...

Seeking Something: June 2007

http://maryanninchile.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 28, 2007. The Accidently 100-mile Diet. My upset tummy yesterday was the negative half of a very split attitude toward Chilean cuisine. While the lack of vegetarian options and the heavy grease and sugar useage might prove challenging, I'm ridiculously excited for the fresh produce. I'm going to go find a snack. Wednesday, June 27, 2007. Feeling a Little Bit Chicken. I feel absolutely, no-joke awful, again, and it's all my fault/choice. Again. Sunday, June 24, 2007. Hot of the 1970s Press.

An American in Aberystwyth. Sunday, November 18, 2007. On football riots, and being the token American. Yesterday I took what may end up being my last weekend trip here in Wales. An American in Aberystwyth. Friday, November 30, 2007. As introspective as it gets. 8220;… the strength to change things that need changing, the courage to accept things that cannot be changed, and the wisdom to know the difference.”. I’ve been taking inventory of things lately. You know, things having to do with my life. For a lot of people, going abroad is an opportunity to really grow as a person, and for me it’s no different. An American in Aberystwyth. Wednesday, November 28, 2007. A few days ago, my dog passed away. Annie, the bichon frise that our family had owned for over five years, was dying of cancer. My parents decided to put her down on Sunday afternoon. I'm sorry for your loss, Casey. Losing a pet is hard, but at least you got to have her around for as long as you did. Sending good thoughts your way. November 28, 2007 at 12:52 PM. I'm so sorry, Casey. It's hard to be away from home when tough things happen. Most of ...

An American in Aberystwyth. Monday, October 29, 2007. Storms, natural gas leaks, and fallen students. Even in the midst of the calm, crime-free atmosphere of this small college town in rural Wales, there is occasionally some drama. Here on the seafront, we experienced a good amount of it last night. Saturday, October 27, 2007. Some highlights from the last day or two:. Listening to a band play Jimi Hendrix in a wine bar (they were insanely good). Monday, October 22, 2007. Mary Anning - Rosemary Marks' weblog

Mary Anning - Rosemary Marks' weblog. Friday, June 16, 2006. The Cars Movie and Steve Jobs. I haven't been to the movies since I went to see Narnia, and that was some time ago. I saw a trailer and made a snappy little comment, throwaway to me, that Andrew's front teeth were featured in a starring role. The little pick up! They wanted to see "Over the Hedge". I thought of dropping them off and going to see "The Da Vinci Code". Needless to say, we all saw the movie "Cars" together. The cute little blue met...
