From the Library of Maura. Entries Tagged as 'Uncategorized'. February 4th, 2014 · No Comments. Last weekend I found myself in a room chock full of 30 students, teachers, and other interested feminists with laptops at the Art Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon. And then I got perhaps the most amazingly gratifying response ever, as the whole room made an audible “Oooooooh! 8221; sound at the mention of the word “librarian.” True story! And one that’s kept me smiling for days). How’s that for inspiration?

What’s the word for feeling melancholy as you experience something because you know you’ll be nostalgic for it when you remember it later? Surely the Germans have a word for that, probably many syllables. At the film festival the movie we saw began with this hilarious short, which I love so much I could watch it forever:. Wonder ye then at the fiery hunt? I’m excited to announce that I’ll be joining the CUNY Graduate Center. This Fall as Advisor to the Provost for Master’s Programs and Digital Initiatives. My charge there will involve working with the Provost and Associate Provosts. While I will continue to teach at City Tech as I take on this new role, I regret to say that I will be unable to continue serving as PI on the U.S. Department of Education “Living Lab” grant. It feels so fancy, much too fancy for me, though it’s really just a normal car, what normal cars are these days. It is a lovely car, quiet when on, comfortable, all the mod cons. I wish we never had to take it. On our block ...
