Mr Hodgson blames several factors forcing him to shut down: loss of mature softwood forest for him to cut, poor prices paid by the mills for wood, high costs and a shortage of workers. Work, School and Community Service Portfolio. I moved to NS in the late summer of 1997 to pursue graduate studies at the School for Resource and Environmental Studies. Over the course of 2 and a half years I completed a course and thesis-based Master's of Environmental Studies. I was a Teaching Assistant for 1st year environmental studies students, leading weekly workshops, delivering lectures and grading projects and papers. As a Board Member for two years, and on the Wilderness Committee for three years.
