The Mooneys' Musings: February 2008
http://mooneynewlyweds.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 28, 2008. This week on DVD. Yes,about I know it's about a drug dealer and quite profane, but it was a great movie. I love any movie that is based on a true story. And strangely, I have some sort of twisted fascination with movies/shows about mobsters, crime, and spies. Jay got me hooked on. Maybe it's the Sicilian in me, but I find organized crime to be a fascinating subject. A lot of mobsters get caught on income tax issues (usually failing to declare income). Preheat oven to 400 F.

The Mooneys' Musings: 6 months and counting!
http://mooneynewlyweds.blogspot.com/2008/06/6-months-and-counting.html
Sunday, June 1, 2008. 6 months and counting! Today, Jay and I have been married for six months! So far, so good :). Updates on the experiment this week:. Grilled Chicken Caesar with Bacon-Herb-Parmesan "Croutons" from Rachael Ray's. Cookbook. This was good, but nothing special. The gimmick that I got sucked in by was the low/no-carb "croutons." I thought that they were greasy, but I loved the salad dressing. It was easy, and I will probably make it again. Grilled Barbeque Shrimp from. It was so easy and ...

The Mooneys' Musings: December 2007
http://mooneynewlyweds.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 30, 2007. Cooking.a work in a process. I spent most of today cooking. We have been so busy (and gone) lately that I haven't really cooked that much since we have been married. I made a delicious King Ranch Chicken Casserole (see above) right before we left. It was really good! And Jay went back for thirds.so I'd consider it a success. Note: I had to take pictures as evidence that I actually do cook! To try. It's even searchable. I need to work on cooking less elaborate dishes so I can co...

The Mooneys' Musings: Busy week/weekend
http://mooneynewlyweds.blogspot.com/2008/06/this-week-was-crazy.html
Sunday, June 8, 2008. This week was crazy. Monday, we had a ton of new furniture delivered. Our house looks sooo much better! We were really busy yesterday. I had an errand in the morning, and then we ate lunch with Jay's dad. We started looking to replace my engagement ring (finally! There is a waitress there who calls everyone "baby." The waitresses are all so friendly that it almost like going to eat at a diner in Mayberry. Sirloin Sliders with Crispy Bacon and Creamy Horseradish Mayo. I made this BLT...

The Mooneys' Musings: March 2008
http://mooneynewlyweds.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 3, 2008. An awful movie and bread pudding mistake. I don't think so. Huge disappointment. Rant about the movie aside, we had Jay's dad over for dinner Sunday night. I attempted to make bread pudding from my friend/co-worker's grandmother's recipe. It tasted alright, but in my haste to make it, I left out TWO whole cups of sugar! Definitely not my finest culinary moment! Jay didn't have night class tonight, due to bad weather! I guess there is an upside to tornadoes :).

The Mooneys' Musings: A Week's Worth of Meals
http://mooneynewlyweds.blogspot.com/2008/06/weeks-worth-of-meals.html
Friday, June 13, 2008. A Week's Worth of Meals. I think these are just too stinking cute. I am most definitely making these for football season. Crab Cakes with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce. The sauce was delicious, but the crab cakes didn't stick together as well as I would have liked. I am sticking with ones from. That I made a few weeks back, and just try different sauces. These, as you can clearly see, are way too done, but the crab mixture was running everywhere. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Master bedroom. This is the bed that my sweet Papaw made for us for a wedding present. It is mahogonay and very high. The Guest bedroom. There has only been one guest to ever stay. (Audrea, you are welome to come back and stay anytime! I love the mosquito net. I had always wanted one, and I think it adds a lot to a room. The walls are still bare in here, but hey, a guest bedroom isn't a number one priority for decorating. The Living Room. We finally got some more chairs!

The Mooneys' Musings: Friday the Thirteenth
http://mooneynewlyweds.blogspot.com/2008/06/friday-thirteenth.html
Friday, June 13, 2008. Friday the thirteenth.and nothing bad has happened to me. Actually, it's been a pretty good day! Jay and I went to lunch today, and after lunch, we went to pick up my new ring! I'm so excited. For those of you who know the whole engagement ring story, you understand. I will have to post pictures soon. I was curious about the origin of the superstition behind Friday the Thirteenth, so I did a little research. (Yes, I know I'm a nerd - I do research at work AND in my spare time!
