The Darbys: May 2013
http://clintandjeriannedarby.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 11, 2013. Whew, it's been a while, so I'll cut right to the chase. Update time. No photo editing and no spell check. St Patrick's Day consisted of 8 adults, 5 toddlers, and hundreds of drunk 20-somethings crowded into Riverview Tavern with BLARING Irish music. Just how we like it. Play dates - how we survive in the city in the winter. It's the only way we don't get completely depressed and lonely. Ring around the rosies . . . Silly rabbit. Mimi couldn't get enough snuggles. We always try to...

The Darbys: November 2014

Monday, November 24, 2014. Try to Get By. When I woke up this morning, it was about 45 degrees and rainy. But now it's 30 degrees and snowing . . . So let's just think about summer for a second and try to get by. Sunshine . . . ahhhhh . . . Mack and his bucket of stuff. On a milkshake date with Mommy. I think often about why we don't live at the beach. But then I realize that there would be no magic if we lived there. The beach would become every day and ordinary, and then where would we vacation? I've n...

The Darbys: September 2012
http://clintandjeriannedarby.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 30, 2012. Wow, I am lucky today - the kids are taking the longest naps ever. They may be up until midnight, but at least I get to catch up on the neglected blog. And this is one of my favorite yearly posts - the beach vacation. Ahhhhhhh . . . . even as I was uploading the photos I could smell the salt in the air and hear the waves. Clint and I have found our perfect beach. Have you ever seen the Truman Show. I had an idea of how I wanted this post to be laid out, but I don't know how lo...

The Darbys: March 2013
http://clintandjeriannedarby.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 5, 2013. This one didn't come with an instructional manual either. But it would have been nice. Mimi's awesome PreK class is celebrating Seuss week, and yesterday was mismatched day. Mimi took her task quite seriously. Mommy, why are they all laughing at me? I'm just wearing my Suess day clothes. That's not very nice. I explained they were laughing because she was funny. Mimi, don't you know that you're a funny kid? Then what are you? Sheesh. And she is pretty cute. Let's just hope...Mimi ...

Wednesday, November 14, 2012. I Pretend to Be Well-Traveled. Somehow I skipped posting this one a couple of weeks ago - I'm sure someone was crying or pulling on me or I maybe I just got up to pour more coffee and forgot to post.). Okay, you can take a break here if you need to and scroll down to look at pics or use the bathroom . . . And then Clint and I caught a plane to California ALL BY OURSELVES (woo hoo! Her new fave pose. Fun at Bebe's house. Hotty Toddy, gosh a'mighty, who the hell are we? And th...

The Darbys: January 2013
http://clintandjeriannedarby.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 28, 2013. I've changed 4 light bulbs . . . and had lots of Starbucks coffee. We're almost one month into January, and I've been busy, busy, busy changing those light bulbs and flossing my teeth . . . and doing some other things that I'll get to later . . . Mimi has been doing a lot of this . . . And this . . . And of course this . . . And FINALLY, finally, finally, finally sat still long enough to write her name. Geez, this girl could care less about things such as that. Anyway, it's clos...

Friday, August 29, 2014. Kitchen reno is OVER! I should be writing about our summer, the kids' camps, hanging at the beach, or, wait for it . . . wait for it . . . BOTH OF MY CHILDREN BEING IN SCHOOL FULL TIME EVERY DAY AND I CAN FINALLY CLEAN AND SEW AND RUN ERRANDS AND BREATHE. But instead I'm going to type about a crazy big project that we are so very proud of . . . Our AMAZING new kitchen! Oh, wait. That's old funky kitchen. If you don't, then consider yourself lucky. This. Space. Sucked. Clint and I...

The Darbys: December 2014
http://clintandjeriannedarby.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Santa Claus and ho ho ho and all that stuff. Because one of my former students asked me to write about this -. By the way, did you know I was once a teacher? But I digress. Yes, I was once a teacher. And one of my former students is curious about how I explain the concept of Santa to my children. But I have no idea how to raise "typical children." Give me a child who is willing to listen and do as he's told and I give. I have no idea what to do with that. Mimi has a party at...

The Darbys: October 2012
http://clintandjeriannedarby.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 11, 2012. Oh, golden trees, how I love thee . . . Last year when Mimi was in Kiddie College she began playing "school" at home. She pretended to be Miss Kelly, and I can remember her asking, "Mommy, what is the season? To which I would respond, "Fall." Then she would say with much enthusiasm, "What did you say? And I would have to yell, "Faaaaallllllll! And I was quite happy to yell about my favorite season. ) And I'm even happier that my blog is finally catching up. Fall! And I'm excit...
