Sunday, March 30, 2008. She said get out. Mostly Filler , Installment 26. When did rupert get so hip. But she couldn't kill him. Willow, in answer to Oz's query about whether stealing from a military base was a regular activities for the Scoobies, says,"We don't have cable, so we have to make our own fun." Heehee. She is perfect in this episode. Just perfect. Her monologues are brilliant, especially the. Speech. Her scene with Oz is priceless. AH is so amazingly talented. Musings, in no particular order:.

Tuesday, March 17, 2009. Red and green dresses. Really bad breakup outfit. The clothes distract me. Faith gets a little revenge for Buffy. Gotta love it. He's just so sweet and adorable. The black dress will always win in my book. So, so hideous. All that pink. And the shoes. And the honkin' big purse. Make it stop. Oz is so adorable. The whole opening scene is lovely. I can't really care about Buffy/Scott. I guess we're not supposed to. I still miss Jenny. Some awesome lines in this one -. So what if Bu...

Wednesday, July 14, 2010. In remembrance of No-Whining Wednesday. Well, hello again! It's Wednesday today, and you know what that means: No Whining! I have been pretty whine-y lately, I tell you what, and so today, I've decided I'm bringing NWW back. At least, for today. For me. So, since it's been so darn long since I've read any blogs or written in my own, here's a nifty li'l meme I found courtesy of. She found it on Let's Fold Scarves. 30 DAYS OF BUFFY! Day 1: Favorite Season. Day 2: Favorite Episode.

This to say about that. Something TiVo's not gonna fix. I didn't indulge in TV much this past season, but I noticed a common aspect to all of the new shows that I did start watching: none of them had credit sequences longer than a couple of seconds. Short opening credits have become a staple of sitcoms whose running length minus commercials is clocking in around 20 minutes these days; however, hour-long shows have been adopting them as well. Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies, Life. Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

This to say about that. Olivier Dahan's 'La Môme (La Vie en Rose)' (2007). I'm often hesitant to heap praise upon performances in these biopics because I don't think that mimicry always equals a great performance. I would rather see an actor who can accurately convey the spirit of the person even if she cannot master every mannerism. However, Marion Cotillard's performance in La Vie en Rose. Posted by stephanie b. Robin Swicord's 'The Jane Austen Book Club' (2007). The Jane Austen Book Club. Is about as ...

This to say about that. Firefly': "Out of Gas". I've finally reached an episode that doesn't bore me and is actually pretty good, so of course I'm having difficulty writing about it. Why is it so much easier to complain than to compliment? The plot isn't terribly complicated nor particularly original, so the structure gives it a little pizazz. Not surprisingly, I don't love the deep flashbacks showing how each of the crew members ended up on Serenity. With Bester* because she has seemed rather naive abou...

This to say about that. Is it just me. Or is this Dollhouse promo very Tarantino-esque? Posted by stephanie b. It's waaaay better than fast food. Kate kinda reminds me of the Wendy's girl here. Except much cuter. Posted by stephanie b. Seth Gordon's 'The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters' (2007). The King of Kong. After a few months, Steve did manage to beat the record, but claiming the title proved to be a little more difficult than expected. For such a simple story, The King of Kong. Is surprisingly ...

This to say about that. Gore Verbinski's 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End' (2007). Who allowed this mess of a film to leave the editing room? Rather, who let production begin with that hodgepodge of a script? The Curse of the Black Pearl. Offered two hours of fairly fast-paced fun and clever one-liners, and though not quite as strong, Dead Man's Chest. Maintained the tone of the original. At World's End. Offers very little of either. While both previous PotC. Or men (Sao Feng) to define her femi...
