Hunger | mooregoodfood

https://mooregoodfood.wordpress.com/hunger

Moore is not less. Skip to primary content. A strange thing happens when you go gluten free. You get really hungry. Specifically, you get really hungry for carbohydrate. You can fill yourself up fast with quick carbohydrate (ie sugar). And/or you can tank up on slightly more healthy carb / starch. The latter is slightly harder to organise at a moment’s notice. So here’s some strategies that I’ve worked out to avoid carb peaks and lows:. Try and eat wholegrains. Combine carbs with protein. A hunk of cheese.

Cheese on toast – at haste | mooregoodfood

https://mooregoodfood.wordpress.com/2011/12/10/cheese-on-toast-at-haste

Moore is not less. Skip to primary content. Cheese on toast – at haste. I know. Who needs a recipe for cheese on toast? Not me, but I’m all for innovation and this technique cuts seconds off the time. ALSO you don’t have to heat the grill. It’s all achieved by radio microwaves. Here’s how . . . 1 Put your bread in the toaster. 2 While it’s toasting cut a slice of cheese. 3 Put the cheese on a plate in the microwave for 25 seconds. 4 In the meantime cut half a tomato into three slices.

Cornmeal Kirsten-style | mooregoodfood

https://mooregoodfood.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/cornmeal-kirsten-style

Moore is not less. Skip to primary content. 1 1/2 to 2 cups of cornmeal (finely ground but still with its yellow colour). A good slug of olive oil or say 40 grams of butter – to taste. An egg or two (optional). Tomato-based sauce (with spinach or broccoli, onion, or mince or whatever). Cheese – sprinkled over in cubes (I often use feta because it keeps its shape and it’s a nice colour contrast). Ham or cut up sausage. Slow roasted eggplant, zuchini and onion sprinkled with feta. At this point it’s ...

Let there be rice noodles! | mooregoodfood

https://mooregoodfood.wordpress.com/2011/12/20/let-there-be-rice-noodles

Moore is not less. Skip to primary content. Let there be rice noodles! I hardly need to tell you how to cook rice noodles. I’ll just tell you the ways I do them. 1 Quickly for me (see photo above). 2 Quickly for others. Basically it’s the same deal. But since there’s usually too many rice noodles to fry, I stick them in the oven to heat through with some oil and soy. Great because you can’t do lots in a domestic wok or frypan. That’s Wendy in the photo. Great tiles huh? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. You ar...

Peanut butter and raisin biscuits | mooregoodfood

https://mooregoodfood.wordpress.com/2011/12/20/peanut-butter-and-raisin-biscuits

Moore is not less. Skip to primary content. Peanut butter and raisin biscuits. Who doesn’t like peanut butter? Who doesn’t like raisins? Okay, I know. People pick the raisins out of their biscuits (I’m not looking at Aaron or Sonia you understand), but actually, most people like raisins. And most people like peanut butter. Raisins. And EVERYONE likes making these biscuits and then eating them. So here you go. Ryan, Aaron and Sonia make peanut butter and raisin biscuits. 1 cup peanut butter.

Caramel macaroons | Chuns in the kitchen

https://chunsinthekitchen.wordpress.com/2012/01/03/caramel-macaroons

Chuns in the kitchen. Food, it's all we ever talk about. Skip to primary content. January 3, 2012. More Christmas baking. These are great and went into lots of my Christmas goodie bags. And the great thing about these is they’re really quick! I blogged about these in MooreGoodFood. But what the hey. Here it is again. Okay, what I like about this recipe is you can make them real real tiny, and they look so pretty! Little golden haystacks with glowing shiny hearts. 380g tin caramel condensed milk. Um, they...

The awesome thing about Alex, apart from her being generally awesome, is that she’s a total dab hand on the old camera. Her composition is spot on. I know – she’s only five. (Young people these days! Everything you have is right here. Kirsten's random adventures. Skip to primary content. This is a blog that I started off as an experiment – mainly so I could work out how to use this WordPress theme. Somehow it got turned into the place I like to put things to show friends and family. Ach quite useful I say! If you’re interested, check out some of the other stuff I’ve set up. Here’s one I made for my sister Bronwyn – MooreGoodFood. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
