When you arrive in Porthmadog turn off the high street at the cross roads by The Factory Shop, (signposted) then stay on this road for approx. 2 miles until you arrive in the village, you will see the Porthmadog Golf Club on your left hand side as you enter the village.

Ganolfan

The Ganolfan is the village hall which has just recently been renovated with a new roof, and an extension built, including a new kitchen, many locals use the Ganolfan for various functions such as WI meetings, special occasions, fund raising etc. The Ganolfan was originally built as a school in 1887, it was built to accommodate 100 children but according to records the average attendance was 32. The Ganolfan is available for hire for private functions at a very reasonable price, if interested contact :-.

Beach

Black Rock Sands is a long sandy beach and is very popular in the summer, it is ideal for swimming and is also very popular with jet skis. Cars are allowed onto the beach, there is a charge for this during the summer season. There are beach wardens present on the beach throughout the summer season and there is also a jet ski patrol to ensure that jet ski users do not wander into restricted areas.

Glanaber

Tafarn Glanaber is the local pub which is located down Beach Road, (first turning on the left after the village shop) it is approx. 200 yards from the beach, the Glanaber has entertainment usually every Saturday. The food is very good with an excellent choice on the menu, also a good choice of wines and beers.
