brick house knits: August 2010
http://brickhouseknits.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 31, 2010. So the votes are overwhelmingly in favor of "little birds", which is where I was leaning anyway. I downloaded the pattern and ordered the yarn yesterday. And wow, this one is going to be hard. Showing her Little Birds steek. Or, maybe not. I could be done with Little Birds and make this instead. Pas de Valse. Doesn't that look comfortable and versatile and elegant? Links to this post. Sunday, August 29, 2010. The early bird gets the party skirt finished. Update at 4 pm. Here's m...

brick house knits: March 2010
http://brickhouseknits.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Originally uploaded by Gina Bass. I'm about halfway done on my cabled camisole and I can't wait to try it on. I'm loving this project - just interesting enough to keep it going, but easy enough that I can work on it while I do other things. And I do a lot of other things. The color happily reminds me of the Caribbean and it's been getting warmer and warmer while I work. summer will be here soon. Links to this post. Saturday, March 20, 2010. Know what's really hard? In particula...

brick house knits: October 2010
http://brickhouseknits.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 13, 2010. Thanks be to provisional cast on tutorial. I hate provisional cast on. I cannot ever remember how to do it, and (after looking it up and practicing several times) I still end up screwing up and ripping it out four or five times before finally getting it right. Provisional cast on has become a barrier between me and Little Birds. Because of the first line, "Using larger needle and MC, provisionally cast on 139 stitches. Forget it, I'll knit something else. brick house knits: pause de pas
http://brickhouseknits.blogspot.com/2010/11/pause-de-pas.html
Tuesday, November 9, 2010. Is it still called a "brooch"? Or be loungy like this with jeans. I like the versatility. Oh the yarn. this is the best stuff I've ever used. I am relieved to be done with the cerebral Pas de Valse pattern but can't wait for the next time I get to use Swans Island. I have about three skeins left (that's 1,740 delicious yards) and I think that means a Swans Island Paper Dolls. And something else too, maybe Citron. When I put this one away, I restarted Little Birds. What is the s...

brick house knits: September 2010
http://brickhouseknits.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 23, 2010. 65279;My goal this Christmas is to give all handmade gifts. Not for my kids of course - I'm not that cruel - but for family and close friends I'd like to give things I have made myself. I realized a couple weeks ago that it was already mid-September and I had less than four months left. I needed to get cracking, especially if these gifts were going to be knitted. I've abandoned Pas de Valse. In other news, I've decided that it's high time I brought sexy back. It was worth it...

brick house knits: June 2010
http://brickhouseknits.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 25, 2010. I have a thing for pirates. I can't really explain where it came from, I guess just a fascination with that completely foreign, brazen, adventurous way of life. Imagine the courage it takes to set out for sail in a wooden ship with a bunch of thieves knowing that if something goes bad,. My favorite pirate application these days is Sea Shepherd. And that leads me to midwifery. My friend and sister midwifery student Kelly. Links to this post. Thursday, June 24, 2010. The next thing h...

Tuesday, February 8, 2011. I haven't forgotten about you. Winter break, sick children, housework, and general laziness have gotten in the way of my knitting. But I finally have something finished to share with you here. Another yoke sweater from Kate Davies. Is finished and being worn for the first time today. I'm so happy with it. Kate Davies patterns fit. This picture is the closest to the actual colors. Look how happy i am at The Yarn Lounge. Next up will be another of Kate's designs, Manu. The AD....
