And I are embarking on a quiltalong for the most wonderful quilt, the 1718 Coverlet as described in Susan Briscoe’s. Book, The 1718 Coverlet: 69 Blocks from the Oldest Dated British Patchwork Coverlet. Sarah has posted in lovely detail many of the particulars which I will reiterate (steal and post) here. She has written it up so succinctly covering all the bases:. As such we are not responsible ...

https://mrsschmenkmanquilts.wordpress.com/tutorial-cross-plus-blocks
Tutorial: Cross plus blocks. I caught the fever from Joan. As you know and thought I’d share with you how I made my cross/plus/what have you blocks. There are many variations depending on your plans, hopes and dreams. If you need several blocks from the same fabric, maybe Tia’s directions. If you want to cut your crosses and backgrounds from the same fabrics, maybe Carla’s liberated cross blocks. Kelly McCaleb also offers a pattern PDF on Etsy. So here’s what I did. So, take a 6 square:. Cut it in half a...

Fat Hen and Flo. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you enjoy my ramblings. Thursday, 3 October 2013. Where have I been? Buried in real life. All gone within two months. It left me empty, lost,. I left work alone. I needed space.to do stuff.to do nothing. To breathe, to re-evaluate. To cry and laugh. To hug and be hugged. I gave myself permission. All the time I needed.still need. To heal, to remember, to just be. It's been a time to rest. To surrender and unfold. To once again live a life. I'm amaze...
Dresses - Freda's Hive
http://fredashive.blogspot.com/2008/08/pretty-pretty-dresses.html
I got my little dresses quilt back last night from Wren Woodland, my machine quilter extraordinaire. She really outdid herself this time. It has to be one of my all time favorite machine quilting artistries. The quilting totally enhances the pattern, fabrics and embellishments of the dresses and the blocks. I needed the quilt done this week to show in our little local quilt show this Saturday and Wren came through. Thank you Wren. I am really very delighted with the completed project. I absolutely love i...

Between Stitches: first 2013 finish...
http://betweenstitches.blogspot.com/2013/01/first-2013-finish.html
22 January, 2013. Yep, it's been a long while since blogging, but the hiatus was good and needed. The fingers did stay busy and here's the sampler that Jovita. And I created for my beginner's quilting class. Check out her blog for two different versions she's been making of this same quilt. The colors were so unlike anything I've used in a quilt before, and I think it has set the tone for me as to how I will look at fabrics from now on. Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Congrats on your finish! 22 January, 2013.

It also has a deadline, so I've spent very little time behind the computer. Get a lot done that way though. At least I have a new block to bring to the Bee tomorrow! Have a lovely weekend. Mrs. Schmelzer's First Grade Class
Friday, March 9, 2012. We are almost to Spring Break! Our first few weeks of March were filled with shamrocks, leprechauns, and a Lucky Day! 8220;NO LION” we are learning in first grade! We read several stories about those clever leprechauns and wrote about the leprechaun that came to our school and all the silly, mischievous things the leprechaun did. Here are a few samples:. Kaffe Fassett for FreeSpirit Artisan Fabrics Blog Tour. October 20, 2016 at 10:25 pm · Filed under Books. I’m so excited to participate in the Kaffe Fassett Artisan fabrics blog tour! My first exposure to Kaffe Fassett fabrics was in a small ad in the back of Threads magazine way back when…early quilting days around here, possibly in the early ’90s (no, not the 1890s). I spied a fabric printed with rows of what looked like marbles to me. Why, yes, I would like to own some of that! If you’ve been he...

Mrs Schmidt B4's Blog. Sharing of our classroom Skype calls. Posted by Tina Schmidt in Uncategorized. I discovered Skype and the possibility of linking my classroom with others around the country on a snowy day in February. In the 3 1/2 months between that day and the end of our school year, my 3rd grade students and I Skyped with 17 different states, 3 countries, and 3 times with authors. It was an incredible learning experience for both myself and the students! Sointula, British Columbia, Canada. What ...
