April 20, 2014. 4 weeks, 3 countries, great people, incredibly hot temperatures, a little vacationing after a lot of work … it is good to be back home in the highlands of Chiapas. Pineapple growing in the corner of the yard. Cooling off by bathing and washing clothes in the river as the sun set. Lots of gallo pinto (fried rice and red beans).

About three weeks ago I started the day at 4am by speeding through the empty streets of San Cristobal in a taxi blaring dramatic Mexican love ballads complete with orchestral swells. Still frame / Still life – Oct 1, 2012. On Monday, October 1st we thanked our friends in Swift Current for letting us stay at their place for the weekend and then headed towards Winnipeg. The trip is about 800km in a straight easterly line. We arrived in Winnipeg to find it on fire. Well, not the whole city but the fire was big. MAY 24, 2012. We have now been back in Canada for 1 month. And it has been great. Transitioning back to “normal” Canadian life is tumultuous though, and so we will leave up this support page for some time. Still Saskatchewan 2013 – photos added. This summer we have hosted many friends at the home quarter. Goats were fed, chickens were caught, garden peas were eaten, yurt tours were given.
