Musings of a Tea Drinker. Random thoughts and musings of a tea lover who has reached pension status! Thursday, 21 April 2011. I have often walked down this street before"! Peter Fisher has a superb set of old photos which you can see on the web. As I browse through them, all my early childhood comes alive. Our world was in these streets, which you can see here on the Land registry plan. (click on the photo to see the larger version). Musings of a Tea Drinker. Random thoughts and musings of a tea lover who has reached pension status! Monday, 2 May 2011. Earliest memories. 1950's East Street. Coal men. We did have a small iron gate. In the recent picture below, of number 14, which is now for sale, the walls are still the original ones, and retain their old character. The old front door was a wooden one with a heavy iron door-knocker, and a circular doorknob. To me it sounded like the low rumbles of thunder under the floor!

Paul's C of E Church, Constable Lee, Rawtenstall, Rossendale, Lancashire. It was just behind the C of E Primary school, where eventually I would begin my education. The church and school being linked. My memories of the church are coloured by the seasons of the year. The timelessness of singing carols,. The sense of excitement that Christmas Day was approaching. Musings of a Tea Drinker: Childhood memories

http://www.musingsofateadrinker.blogspot.com/2009/12/childhood-memories.html

Musings of a Tea Drinker. Random thoughts and musings of a tea lover who has reached pension status! Saturday, 19 December 2009. This is my mum, Ethel Smith. I have been writing a lot about my dad, now 91, and as he has now moved it has stirred a lot of memories. My mum died aged just 70 in 1990, so dad has been a widower for 20 years in 2010. The photo was taken at Rawtenstall market, when the local paper was doing a shopper's survey. It's how I remember my mum, smiling. Commonly known as "Brook's Woods".

Tales from the Tardis: May 2007

http://talesofatimelord.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html

Tales from the Tardis. Sunday, May 20, 2007. This week Teapot and I have been to two cricket matches. On Thursday we went to Lords in London to watch the first day's play between England and West Indies. Earlier today we went to Edgbaston with Al who is a member there to see Warwickshire play Leicestershire and win. We hear his footsteps in all sorts of places. Sometimes they are woven subtly almost imperceptibly into the daily music of life. They are never overtaken by the noise of the stronger ...Of co...

Tales from the Tardis. Thursday, April 26, 2007. Dave was 62 when he died this week. He was out jogging when suddenly he passed out of this world and went to join El Pasto and FLN entering a reality described by C.S. Lewis thus:. The term is over; the holidays have begun. The dream is ended: this is the morning.the things that began to happen after that were so great and beautiful that I cannot write them. I remember his obsessive commitment to Gilbert and Sullivan. He and his friends would try to at...

Tales from the Tardis. Sunday, October 29, 2006. Before you think I have gone all highbrow this is not a blog about the hero of the Kingsley Amis novel of the same name. It is a story in the unfolding about my friend Jim.lucky Jim some would say. Not because he is a season ticket holder at Aston Villa looking forward to the ongoing revolution under St Martin, not because of his vast collection of vinyl records going back to before Cliff was a lad (he must have a lot? Lucky Jim. No way. My advice. Some of...

Tales from the Tardis. Saturday, March 31, 2007. Your days of sorrow will end. So says the prophet Isaiah. But not yet. I travelled to Lancaster on Wednesday and picked up a copy of the Times on the train to read these words as part of an inside article. They were written with great feeling by one who knows. We carry our loss with us but one day sorrows will end. I am the Lord in its time I will do this swiftly. Posted by timelord in the tardis at 10:14 pm. Friday, March 30, 2007. Tales from the Tardis. Wednesday, December 27, 2006. I was passing the time of day with a friend of mine at the end of the check out in the food emporium frequented by Teapot and myself earlier today when he pointed to three packs of cranberries. These are for next Christmas " said he. "I will freeze them and make a cranberry jelly next year. You know there was a shortage this year". I asked if he would be buying next year's Christmas cards in the sales but he said not. Nearer home I thought of other fri...

Tales from the Tardis. Friday, September 29, 2006. It is time you had a haircut says Teapot. Don't you realise I say that it is wrong to bald tamper? My protests cut no ice and all she says is that my hair is already bringing me into serious disrepute, and in any case there is not a great deal to bald tamper with anyway. The real thing is she is looking for a little reverse swing after 54 overs and some would say who can blame her. At least they do not use a bottle top. Thursday, September 28, 2006.

Observations of life, the universe and random happenings. Wednesday, 26 March 2008. Not quite the same ring to it as 'Sleepless in Seattle', but hey this is the second night of being awake. Yesterday I spent the night trying to get to sleep - I was still awake at 5.30am! I tried reading a book and the story scared me lots. Lots of random thoughts seemed to pop into my head:. Ooh I need to take my coat to the drycleaners. That red wine will have stained. What will I do if its stained? Where should I study?

Musings of a tea addict. Thoughts and dreams of a 30-something girl who is never without a cup of tea. December 9, 2016. Friday has arrived and the weekend is 8.5 hours away. Instead of wondering for the billionth time what I’ve done to my parents to make them like this I’m going to ponder some positives. 8211; The Christmas tree is up and our home is looking rather festive with decorations on door handles, ornaments in the lounge and bedroom and the mistletoe by the stairs. 8211; Hubby and I are having ...

Musings of a Teacher

Musings of a Teacher. A day in the life of a teacher can turn to mush unless we share and reflect, have a sense of humor about it and, most importantly, revel in it! Thus, this is a space to revel in my fullfillments as a teacher and the accomplishments of my students; and to share and reflect on lessons and teachable moments. I hope to inspire others a bit at a time and to have a space where I can peek back on my musings as reminders of why I do what I do.because there are so many reasons. We could hear...
