Anyway, I'm taking this wine-tasting class (not as cool as it sounds, actually kinda really weird/surreal), but the instructor totally confirmed this. His explanation was of the ideal way to taste wine - no green vegetables (too acidic), but okay if coated in olive oil. There are lots of things I thought I'd do while I was here(for instance, updating this blog with any regularity) I haven't, but really that's to be expected and I don't feel I'll have too many regrets. A semester in Paris. Sunday, January 22, 2006. I think an ongoing theme here will be French/American cultural differences, because it is certainly an ongoing theme in my head. Most of them aren't noticeable right away, but a week in now, the language thing feels easy compared to culture. All these rules! And no one will ever tell you, you're just supposed to know! I'm positive I'm offending people all the time and am completely oblivious. Faire la bise,. Extase=extasy, the same. Or do we use another word?
