http://iowa2ireland.blogspot.com/2015/07/summer-writing.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Just back from a memorable trip to Vienna and Lower Austria (see my series of live public travel journals over on Five Suitcases. My to-do list is longer than ever. After a visit to Dublin's brand-new Teeling Whiskey Distillery, I wrote a review. But hadn't yet included it in The Frugal Guide: Dublin. I've since rectified that situation, and the review is in the most recent edition. List, and I completed an interview. Speaking of the book, work continues, but slowly. I've be...

Dubliner In Deutschland: Other expats come and go but I'm still here
http://dublinerindeutschland.blogspot.com/2015/06/other-expats-come-and-go-but-im-still.html
Just a girl from Dublin, Ireland, living in southern Germany with my German husband blogging about my experiences. Saturday, June 20, 2015. Other expats come and go but I'm still here. One of the problems with making friends with other expats is that a lot of them are only living in Germany temporarily and eventually move back to their home countries (or some place else). In the almost five years I've lived here I've had to say goodbye countless times and it doesn't get any easier. I guess it's just a do...

The Narcissistic Expat Diaries: From Iowa to Ireland: Dublin Waterways Bird Survey
http://iowa2ireland.blogspot.com/2015/07/dublin-waterways-bird-survey.html
Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Dublin Waterways Bird Survey. Birds Our garden neighbors, our pesky pigeons, and our favorite singers. Most people – including me – don't usually take much notice of most of our everyday birds. Sparrows buzz by as nondescript chirruping and singing gives us an unspecific audible backdrop to a summer's day. A recent push by Dublin City Council. Is trying to change the casual way most Dubliners see their feathered friends, especially those in and around our urban waterways. The swa...

The Waltons Go Irish. Canadian/Irish words and expressions we've learned. Tuesday, 4 August 2015. For Canadians and Americans. We found our rental car and after a quick stop at the grocery store (where we were stunned with the cheap prices - a decent bottle of wine can be purchased for less than €2! We found our way up the twisty roads to the villa. They were dipped into the sea a few times and then landed gracefully back on the boat. I have no photos but they both loved it! Most of our days though start...

The Waltons Go Irish. Canadian/Irish words and expressions we've learned. Sunday, 16 August 2015. It's been busy around here lately. We are soaking in the last of the summer days. I love having the kids home, I could use another month before school goes back. I do not look forward to schedules, homework, packing lunches and washing uniforms. So for now we are avoiding all things school and enjoying the last bit of summer holidays. At the match :). She was disgusted to learn she had to mix it by hand.
