http://www.billibierling.com/2015/03/19/himalaya-spring-season-kicking-off
Himalaya spring season kicking off. A beautiful winter’s day in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in January. As far as expeditions are concerned, I need to get my head around who is coming and who is not. However, in order to get a clearer picture I need to get back to Kathmandu, talk to Miss Hawley and contact all the trekking agencies to find out what is happening this season. Until then – watch the space. Said on March 30, 2015 at 2:32 pm. Hi, Billi, envying you going back to Nepal! Und grüß mir die Berge!

Kathmandu Full Moon Stupa Race. I have just come back from a fantastic 52km race connecting Kathmandu’s two most important stupas (Buddhist monuments) via ‘the long way’. Richard Bull, the race organiser and founder of Trail Running Nepal. Thought it would be a good idea to take a huge detour and run from Swayambhunath,. Also known as the Monkey Temple, to Bouddhanath. On the descent from Jamacho to Mukhda. On route to the next checkpoint. Prayer flags near Nagi Gomba. Happy Easter to everyone – an...

Billi Bierling – Journalist and Climber | Impressions from Iran
http://www.billibierling.com/2015/01/22/impressions-from-iran
Here are just a few impressions from our wonderful trip to Iran. They should just show the diversity and cultural richness of this country and its people and give you an idea of what we were allowed to experience. No more words needed…. Imam Mosque in Ishfahan. Old Bazaar in Ishfahan. Sunlit tail of a peacock on the ceiling in Isfahan. Posing in front of the Ishfahan mosques. Even though it’s the smallest desert, the Maranjab seems vast. Interior of the Imam Mosque in Ishfahan. A lone bicycle in Ishfahan.

After having spent three days in Tehran attending some meetings, doing interviews with Iranian media and going for energising morning runs in a park featuring a beautiful backdrop of the mountains, we were taken on a trip down south by Pary, her husband Arman, and some kind friends – Kian, his father Qu and Sahan – who treated us to this experience. We visited the two ancient cities of Kashan. As well as went on a day trip to the stunning Maranjab Desert. Experiencing the desert with great friends. Thank...

This is just a brief note to say that I am fine and I was not in Kathmandu when the devastating earthquake hit Nepal. I have been able to contact some friends and as far as I know most of them are ok. My house is still standing but of course the rest of the country has been badly hit. I am heading back to Nepal on a humanitarian mission for the Swiss Humanitarian Aid. My heart goes out to Nepal and its people. Thanks for your thoughts and positive energy. A long run around Germany’s highest mountain.
