Without it, the world would be a boring place and, more importantly, would not function. Biodiversity includes: plants, animals, fungi, bacteria and also the diversity of habitats e.g. woodland. Much of our native woodland has disappeared. Wetlands have been drained. The plants and animals that they support have declined in number.
