About Me And My Patch. Saturday, 8 August 2015. An off patch day today had me visiting Thursley Common with Marc Heath ( see his superb blog here. Dragon Habitat At Thursley. We spent 7 hours in glorious weather chasing down Dragonflies, of which we found 16 species, two of those being new to me, the Black Darter and the Common Hawker, although the latter only gave flight views, the former were seen in good numbers, giving lots of photo opportunities. Newly emerged Common Darter. 8 August 2015 at 20:08.

About Me And My Patch. Saturday, 1 August 2015. The weather was fine and sunny, with virtually no wind, perfect for the first full patch walk of the new month. Here's how I kicked off the August tally then, in the order of appearance. I took a distant shot of it. Then managed a closer, but still obscured shot,. This looks to be a different one to the couple I photographed last week, judging by the wing damage seen. 1 August 2015 at 18:17. 1 August 2015 at 18:23. Lovely BH shots Warren. Would love the...

Pittswood Birds: August 2015
http://pittswoodpatch.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
About Me And My Patch. Monday, 31 August 2015. Heavy rain fell throughout most of the morning, but a short lived dry spell allowed me to make a circuit of Migrant Alley, before more rain curtailed the hour long walk. Looking back at my stats and comparing this August to the previous thirteen, they show this August had the fourth highest bird species total of 74. The sun went in for the last few shots, but they came out ok. Sunday, 30 August 2015. Needless to say not a single bird was seen in the vicinity!

About Me And My Patch. Sunday, 9 August 2015. Another lovely morning of sunshine, the last for a while if the forecasters are to be believed! The fine, sunny and warm weather didn't bring out many birds though, an early walk around the sheep pasture and paddocks of Migrant Alley was pretty birdless, just a few STARLINGS, Corvids and the odd flyover PIED WAGTAIL. Unusually this individual allowed me to photograph it as it preened. It's not quite what I was looking for on the fence lines though! Libellules...
