Now, I know I just got back from my Chicago food trip, but I was still really excited to go back, because the food trip had reminded me just how awesome Chicago is (and I'm not even a huge fan of big cities); plus, this trip was going to be completely different from the last one, so I still had a lot to look forward to! Wednesday, July 30, 2014. The Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore is the amazing church in the city center. The marble work on the exterior took 120 years to complete. It may be the only Gothic building in Florence. I don't know. In contrast the interior is surprisingly spartan. The main attraction is the dome.
