notmanywords

Thursday, 13 August 2015. I’ve had the camera to work for the last few days so here are a few shots. Quite a few Darters around and I managed a shot of a Hawker but I haven’t seen a single Damselfly for weeks it’s definitely been a bad year for these cracking little things. A couple of Common Darter and if you look closely you can just about make out a Grasshopper in the top right corner. An arty shot of a Small Tortoiseshell. A regular shot of a Small Tortoiseshell. I just like this of a Bee. A very kee...

notmanywords: March 2015

http://notmanywords.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, 26 March 2015. It was off to Stanhope this morning for the Great Grey Shrike. It was windy in the quarry, which kept the Shrike down. Although it showed well twigs nearly always hid it. It was very approachable so this is the closest I have ever been to a Great Grey Shrike. Labels: great grey shrike. Wednesday, 25 March 2015. As I got out of the car at home another cracking bird flew over the garden, a Red Kite. Despite the lack of blue sky not a bad morning out. Friday, 20 March 2015. Got it l...

notmanywords: February 2015

http://notmanywords.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Friday, 27 February 2015. It is a Black Grouse (honest, it was the best I could get). I'm hiding so you can't seem me. Thursday, 26 February 2015. One Hundred Up But Nothing Special. Went in search of Red Squirrels this afternoon but the only red I found was on the heads of a Pheasant and Redpoll (the Redpoll was always hidden by twigs) and on a Robin. I could not get a decent shot of this Redpoll. Tuesday, 24 February 2015. More Of The Same. Roe Deer Buck with its horns still in velvet. Duck a la sleep.

notmanywords: Little Owl & Kestrel

http://notmanywords.blogspot.com/2015/08/little-owl-kestrel.html

Thursday, 6 August 2015. Little Owl and Kestrel. Tuesday saw me at South Shields in the hope of seeing Short-eared Owl. In the event the wind was too strong and it was keeping the Owls hunkered down (if indeed they were still there). I was still happy though as four Little Owl put on a great show posing well. A juvenile Kestrel was hunting and again posed for pictures. 10 May 2016 at 19:41. Really lovely shots here, especially of the Little Owl. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). notmanywords: The 15th

http://notmanywords.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-15th.html

Wednesday, 20 May 2015. Just a few more shots from Northumberland on the 15. This Shelduck took exception to a couple of Mallard on its pond and saw them both off. Second one shown the red bill. Record shot of a female Marsh Harrier. Ditto of a Male. First time I have caught this and I nearly got them sharp. 20 May 2015 at 16:40. Hi Ron Your first Whitethroat shot looks more like a Reed Warbler to me. 21 May 2015 at 18:27. This comment has been removed by the author. 21 May 2015 at 18:34.

Brunswick Birder: March 2015

http://brunswickbirder.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Monday, 30 March 2015. It's about time that Newcastle joined (what seems like) every other city in the UK by having a breeding pair of Peregrine Falcons in the City Centre. Newcastle's population of feral pigeons won' t know whats hit them. Literally! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hello my name is Gary and I live in Brunswick Green, Wideopen. I have been birding on and off for the last 40 years or so. I don't have a patch as such I just go where the best chance of seeing some good birds is.

Brunswick Birder: East Anglian Springwatch

http://brunswickbirder.blogspot.com/2015/06/east-anglian-springwatch.html

Monday, 1 June 2015. I have just returned from a family holiday in. We stayed in a small village near Thetford called East Harling, I chose this location because it's central and all the main birding sites in. Even though it was a family holiday I still managed to do quite a bit of birding. Thanks to my fantastic wife and very patient 8 year old daughter! On 24th May we went to Choseley drying barns where we got Dottrel and Corn Bunting. Because the light wasn't very good when we were at Dunwich I wasn't...

Brunswick Birder: November 2014

http://brunswickbirder.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 19 November 2014. My family and I spent the last two weeks in October on holiday in. At the home of the mouse. It wasn’t really a birding trip but we did manage to escape the crowds on a few days to visit some of the superb birding hotspots of central. This was my first time birding in the. But even then, I may have only added another one or two birds to the list, so not really worth the effort of lugging my scope half way around the world. We also found a gem of a place in the centre of.

Brunswick Birder: August 2015

http://brunswickbirder.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, 2 August 2015. After lunch we had a walk around to the view point but didn't actually see any Bee-eaters from there. With a bit of watching from the car park I was able to work out where a favoured feeding area was. So a short walk managed to get us far better views than we could get from the RSPB view point. A half decent record shot. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Geordie Shore Lark at Druridge Bay. It's a record breaker! Howdon Wetlands in November.

Brunswick Birder: Into the Valley

http://brunswickbirder.blogspot.com/2015/05/into-valley.html

Monday, 18 May 2015. Not the superb song by the Skids, but a trip up to Harthope Valley. Starting at Hawsen Burn it wasn't long before I was watching my main target Ring Ousel, a male and female flew from the path up into a tree. Also seen along the burn, Stonechat, Whinchat and Red Grouse. A walk along Harthope Burn beyond Langleeford House only produced a single Redstart, Nuthatch and a superb Adder desperately trying to soak up heat from the occasional sunny spells by flattening its body out.

My Anger Makes Me a Modern Girl

My Anger Makes Me a Modern Girl. Modern. Not post modern. Oct 19th, 2012. I'm going through the process of starting therapy again. Looks like either psycho-dynamic or cognitive analytic. It's going to be a while due to waiting lists, but I genuinely could not afford to see somebody privately at 50 an hour. My future mini goals are. Bake a treat once a week. Why own cute cake tins if you don't use them? Do the 5 mins a day artisan bread so I can have nice bread always. Oct 17th, 2012. Oct 15th, 2012.
