The Survivor in my House | Thoroughly Christian Divorce
https://thoroughlychristiandivorce.wordpress.com/2013/12/07/the-survivor-in-my-house
One woman's fight to be free at last. The Survivor in my House. December 7, 2013. Today, Jessica is cleaning my house. I pay her fifty dollars, twice a month. Extravagant, I know. But with a torn rotator cuff on the mend and a few OCD cleaning tendencies, it wasn’t much of a stretch. Then again. . . Yes, that happened. No, I’m not admitting to anything. Broad Generalization: Survivors Know Each Other by the Scars Left Behind. It’s not like I sit around pontificating on the topic. There’s no secret co...

One woman's fight to be free at last. Ida Takes on the Almighty and Gets Owned in the Process. March 30, 2014. Today was one of those days you’d like to hit the delete key. I’m a school nurse. You can imagine, I hear some sad stories. Some are heartbreaking, some are a shame, some are just so much foolishness. Sometimes, it just hurts to breathe–. This evening, I had myself a nice little rant-fest directed at the Almighty. Why didn’t someone protect her? Dear God above, please make this stop–. Right in t...

My Story | Thoroughly Christian Divorce
https://thoroughlychristiandivorce.wordpress.com/my-story
One woman's fight to be free at last. Do You Really Want to Know? I chose to leave. Four o’clock one morning, I packed a few things in the car, then let the beast verbally spew all over me for two more hours. Some of that venom will keep me in therapy for years to come. If you’re here looking for help, please know good days eventually arrive and you will appreciate them all the more for the contrast. If you want to understand where I’m coming from, read here. These are not my stories but the pattern is s...

Forgiveness Requires Justice: Else Why the Cross? | Thoroughly Christian Divorce
https://thoroughlychristiandivorce.wordpress.com/2014/03/10/forgiveness-requires-justice-else-why-the-cross
One woman's fight to be free at last. Forgiveness Requires Justice: Else Why the Cross? March 10, 2014. Needed to hear this today. The need for justice simmers inside, some days more than others. Thank you, Jeff. A Cry For Justice. I have a problem in keeping up with my reading. I open a good book, start in with good intentions of covering a lot of ground, and then smack! Forgiveness is much easier when there is justice. In fact, we might even be justified in saying that. View all posts by Ida Mae ».

One woman's fight to be free at last. The Formerly Abused Woman’s Guide to Keeping Other Women From Marrying Badly. November 19, 2013. Since this divorce business, I’ve learned to hate stuff. Once upon a time, I was way too nice to hate anything which might account for thirty years of taking crap. Nowadays I hate abuse, I hate seeing people mistreated, I hate lies, I hate deception, I hate all sorts of things that never once rustled my previous jimmies. So you don’t love your spouse? 1 Marry a normal per...

Forgiveness and Other Silly Ideas | Thoroughly Christian Divorce
https://thoroughlychristiandivorce.wordpress.com/2012/03/30/forgiveness-and-other-silly-ideas
One woman's fight to be free at last. Forgiveness and Other Silly Ideas. March 30, 2012. For the last week, I’ve been hanging. Just sitting. Sometimes the excitement bumps over so I thought I’d share. I’ve read other blogs and commented lightly, kept up with emails, done a little work for a new friend. At the moment, I’m eating eggs and spinach. If envy hasn’t swamped your boat just yet, give it a minute. Pause and think calmly whilst I finish eggs*. Pause and discuss amongst yourselves whilst I get tea*.
