The Nurses in Portugal. Karsen, Kiaya and Kinley. The three Ks. August 27, 2010. Filed under: Uncategorized — nursesonamission @ 4:54 pm. Happy 10 month birtday Kinley! Can you even say that? Well, I guess you can because I just did.🙂 Yep, it’s true. Our third little K is 10 months old today. She’s even more fun than she was the first day we met her. What a sweet gal! Karsen had her first in-Portugal speech therapy appointment this afternoon. It was fantastic. Thank you Michelle! I FINALLY found a fabri...

The Nurses in Portugal. Tubes and ‘noids September 6, 2010. Filed under: Uncategorized — nursesonamission @ 10:06 pm. Quick post on our #1 K — Karsen! Karsen is going to have tubes put in her ears and probably have her adenoids removed THIS THURSDAY! Today I took her to get some blood work done and she was incredibly brave. She didn’t cry or anything – and they took a LOT of blood! I got a little woozy just watching it all happen! Thanks for remembering her as she goes through this on Thursday. We kn...

The Nurses in Portugal. Tubes and ‘noids part duas September 10, 2010. Filed under: Uncategorized — nursesonamission @ 12:18 pm. The surgery is over and it went well (we think)! Karsen was in the operating room for about 25 minutes and they put tubes in both ears and took out her adenoids. She says she can already hear better! Thank goodness we are in September and that means the end of the pool/beach season! It means no sharing the mouse with ANYONE! Com muito amor–. A, B and the Ks. You are commenting ...

The Nurses in Portugal. Ear aches, jingle bells and bonfires (sort of) August 25, 2010. Filed under: Uncategorized — nursesonamission @ 7:52 pm. It’s official. Kinley has had her first ear infection. She was on antibiotics for 8 days, and appears to be better. YAY for the wonders of prayers and medicine! Honestly, she was a bit fussy, but if my nose was running like that, you’d bet I’d be too! We’ll keep you posted on that front. I suppose you’ll have to stay tuned to find out! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

A day a the beach and a week of tennis camp | NursesOnaMission's Blog

https://nursesonamission.wordpress.com/2010/08/30/a-day-a-the-beach-and-a-week-of-tennis-camp

The Nurses in Portugal. A day a the beach and a week of tennis camp August 30, 2010. Filed under: Uncategorized — nursesonamission @ 12:36 pm. So, the two of us got up, got her a yogurt, logged on to Polly Pocket, and started getting ready for our day. The two of us came downstairs, hung out with Karsen, we got Kiaya fed, got Kinley up, changed, dressed and fed, hung out with Daddy for a few, I finally got ready, then we hit the road. 20 minutes later, we were at tennis camp! You ought to be! So, pray fo...

things of the sea: on job-seeking...part 2

http://thingsofthesea.blogspot.com/2013/02/on-job-seekingpart-2.html

On job-seeking.part 2. Some of you may be asking, "Why is Caroline writing a post on such a banal subject? Answer: this topic has come up frequently in my community of friends over the last year. If you have not experienced job loss or the inability to find full-time work, please understand what a blessing that is! I am certain that job-seeking is a very refining process and can be used for God's purposes in our lives. But, we can be honest about the difficulties and discouragements along the way. No, no...

A special thanks to my mom, who has proven to be the friend of a lifetime. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). There was a single blue line of crayon drawn across every wall in the house. What does it mean? What do you think? So, lately i've been pondering the good things in life.and i want to know, what good things you. Think Christians are guaranteed? What good things are we promised? Please share your ideas with me! So where does that leave me? How do i humbly accept that i am not entitled to the "good things" in life? I confront my own selfishness in asking that, but also acknowledge that perhaps our culture has shaped many of us to hold 'morals' of merit and entitlement. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Today I sat at a coffee shop about a 30 minute walk from my apartment, and I proceeded to write a list of things which I don't understand. not things like "astrophysics", but more along the lines of life's mysteries. that is probably not surprising to those of you who know me best; I am never quite contented to leave things unquestioned. So here goes.things which I don't understand:. Why some dear friends lost their child. Why hatred and animosity reign between populations that hardly know each other.

One week ago today, after a week of busyness and exhaustion, I made an excellent decision. Frequently I realize I have fallen prey to a "routine," predictable and dull. For some reason, that Sunday evening I was convinced I needed inspiration and a night of leisure. Enter the North Carolina Symphony. Occasionally there are moments in listening to live music when I am blessed with the novel sensation that I am hearing music for the first time. This evening was a first breath of winter air, the smell o...

1 John Mayer may certainly believe his "shadow days are over," but I personally appreciate his inner bad-ace attitude.and I find it more believable. Gracias, John, for this. New song. The people with a story. Maggie told me about The Story of Us. In high school, and I think that was the first film that piqued my interest in messy stories. The couple, Michelle Pfeiffer and Bruce Willis, are struggling to keep their marriage and family together. They share memories, seemingly insignificant, that comprise the core of their marriage. There are other films that capture the little, essential details that make a good story; The Family Stone. And A River Runs Through It. And then God said.

New heaven, new earth. Previously, I had difficulty believing in heaven. Simple reasoning: glimmers remain of the original glory of creation, and the brokenness of this world leaves me yearning to see the eternal restoration of all things. Even faint hope can turn to faith. Having been listening to Derek and the Dominos' "Layla," I was hushed by the instrumental ending. I had never heard it before: perhaps the hustle of American life requires radio edits, or what is worse, perhaps my own lifestyle re...
